ג אמרוַיֹּ֥אמֶרAnd he said אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem היהיְהִ֣יthere should be אורא֑וֹרlight היהוַיְהִיand there was-אוראוֹר :light
ד ראהוַיַּ֧רְאAnd he saw אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֛יםHashem אֶת(direct object)-אורהָא֖וֹרthe light כִּיthat it was-טובט֑וֹבgood בדלוַיַּבְדֵּ֣לand He separated אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֔יםHashem בֵּ֥יןbetween אורהָא֖וֹרthe light וּבֵ֥יןand between חשךהַחֹשֶׁךְ :the darkness
ה קראוַיִּקְרָ֨אAnd he called אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֤יםHashem אורלָאוֹר֙to the light יוםי֔וֹםDay חשךוְלַחֹ֖שֶׁךְand to the darkness קראקָ֣רָאHe called ליללָ֑יְלָהNight היהוַיְהִיand it was-ערבעֶ֥רֶבevening היהוַיְהִיand it was-בקרבֹ֖קֶרmorning יוםי֥וֹםday אחדאֶחָד :one
ו אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרAnd he said אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֔יםHashem היהיְהִ֥יLet there be רקיערָקִ֖יעַa sky תוךבְּת֣וֹךְin the middle מיםהַמָּ֑יִםthe waters היהוִיהִ֣יand let it be בדלמַבְדִּ֔ילseparating בֵּ֥יןbetween מיםמַ֖יִםwater מיםלָמָיִם :to water
ז עשהוַיַּ֣עַשׂAnd he made אלהיםאֱלֹהִים֮Hashem אֶת(direct object)-רקיעהָרָקִיעַ֒the expanse בדלוַיַּבְדֵּ֗לand he separated בֵּ֤יןbetween מיםהַמַּ֙יִם֙the waters אֲשֶׁר֙that מִתַּ֣חַתfrom under רקיעלָרָקִ֔יעַto the expanse וּבֵ֣יןand between מיםהַמַּ֔יִםthe waters אֲשֶׁ֖רthat מֵעַ֣לfrom above רקיעלָרָקִ֑יעַto the expanse היהוַיְהִיand it was- כֵן :so
ח קראוַיִּקְרָ֧אAnd he called אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֛יםHashem רקיעלָרָקִ֖יעַto the expanse שמיםשָׁמָ֑יִםHeaven היהוַיְהִיAnd it was-ערבעֶ֥רֶבevening היהוַיְהִיand it was-בקרבֹ֖קֶרmorning יוםי֥וֹםday שנישֵׁנִי :second
ט אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרAnd he said אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֗יםHashem קוהיִקָּו֨וּLet be gathered מיםהַמַּ֜יִםthe waters מִתַּ֤חַתfrom under שמיםהַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙the heavens אֶלto-מקוםמָק֣וֹםplace אחדאֶחָ֔דone ראהוְתֵרָאֶ֖הand she let appear יבשההַיַּבָּשָׁ֑הthe dry land היהוַיְהִיand it was- כֵן :so
י קראוַיִּקְרָ֨אAnd he called אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֤יםHashem יבשהלַיַּבָּשָׁה֙to the dry land ארץאֶ֔רֶץEarth מקוהוּלְמִקְוֵ֥הand to the gathering of מיםהַמַּ֖יִםthe waters קראקָרָ֣אHe called יםיַמִּ֑יםSeas ראהוַיַּ֥רְאAnd he saw אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem כִּיthat it was-טובטוֹב :good
יא אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרAnd he said אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֗יםHashem דשאתַּדְשֵׁ֤אLet sprout ארץהָאָ֙רֶץ֙the earth דשאדֶּ֔שֶׁאvegetation עשבעֵ֚שֶׂבherb זרעמַזְרִ֣יעַyielding זרעזֶ֔רַעseed עץעֵ֣ץtree פריפְּרִ֞יof fruit עשהעֹ֤שֶׂהmaking פריפְּרִי֙fruit מיןלְמִינ֔וֹaccording to its kind אֲשֶׁ֥רthat זרעזַרְעוֹseed- ב֖וֹis in it עַלon-ארץהָאָ֑רֶץthe earth היהוַיְהִיand it was- כֵן :so
יב יצאוַתּוֹצֵ֨אAnd she brought out ארץהָאָ֜רֶץthe earth דשאדֶּ֠שֶׁאvegetation עשבעֵ֣שֶׂבherb זרעמַזְרִ֤יעַyielding זרעזֶ֙רַע֙seed מיןלְמִינֵ֔הוּaccording to its kind עץוְעֵ֧ץand tree עשהעֹשֶׂהmaking-פריפְּרִ֛יfruit אֲשֶׁ֥רthat זרעזַרְעוֹseed- ב֖וֹis in it מיןלְמִינֵ֑הוּaccording to its kind ראהוַיַּ֥רְאAnd he saw אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem כִּיthat it was-טובטוֹב :good
יג היהוַיְהִיAnd it was-ערבעֶ֥רֶבevening היהוַיְהִיand it was-בקרבֹ֖קֶרmorning יוםי֥וֹםday שלישישְׁלִישִׁי :third
יד אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרAnd he said אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֗יםHashem היהיְהִ֤יLet there be מאורמְאֹרֹת֙luminaries רקיעבִּרְקִ֣יעַin the expanse of שמיםהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםthe heavens בדללְהַבְדִּ֕ילto separate בֵּ֥יןbetween יוםהַיּ֖וֹםthe day וּבֵ֣יןand between לילהַלָּ֑יְלָהthe night היהוְהָי֤וּand let them be אותלְאֹתֹת֙for signs מועדוּלְמ֣וֹעֲדִ֔יםand for appointed times יוםוּלְיָמִ֖יםand for days שנהוְשָׁנִים :and years
טו היהוְהָי֤וּAnd let them be מאורלִמְאוֹרֹת֙for luminaries רקיעבִּרְקִ֣יעַin the expanse of שמיםהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםthe heavens אורלְהָאִ֖ירto give light עַלon-ארץהָאָ֑רֶץthe earth היהוַיְהִיand it was- כֵן :so
טז עשהוַיַּ֣עַשׂAnd he made אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֔יםHashem אֶת(direct object)-שניםשְׁנֵ֥יthe two אורהַמְּאֹרֹ֖תthe lights גדולהַגְּדֹלִ֑יםthe great אֶת(direct object)-מאורהַמָּא֤וֹרthe luminary גדולהַגָּדֹל֙the greater ממשלהלְמֶמְשֶׁ֣לֶתfor the rule of יוםהַיּ֔וֹםthe day וְאֶתand-מאורהַמָּא֤וֹרthe luminary קטןהַקָּטֹן֙the lesser ממשלהלְמֶמְשֶׁ֣לֶתfor the rule of לילהַלַּ֔יְלָהthe night וְאֵ֖תand כוכבהַכּוֹכָבִים :the stars
יז נתןוַיִּתֵּ֥ןAnd he set אֹתָ֛םthem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem רקיעבִּרְקִ֣יעַin the expanse of שמיםהַשָּׁמָ֑יִםthe heavens אורלְהָאִ֖ירto give light עַלon-ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
יח משלוְלִמְשֹׁל֙And to rule יוםבַּיּ֣וֹםin the day לילוּבַלַּ֔יְלָהand over the night בדלוּלְהַבְדִּ֔ילand to separate בֵּ֥יןbetween אורהָא֖וֹרthe light וּבֵ֣יןand between חשךהַחֹ֑שֶׁךְthe darkness ראהוַיַּ֥רְאAnd he saw אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem כִּיthat it was-טובטוֹב :good
יט היהוַיְהִיAnd it was-ערבעֶ֥רֶבevening היהוַיְהִיand it was-בקרבֹ֖קֶרmorning יוםי֥וֹםday רביעירְבִיעִי :fourth
כ אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרAnd he said אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֔יםHashem שרץיִשְׁרְצ֣וּLet swarm מיםהַמַּ֔יִםthe waters שרץשֶׁ֖רֶץwith swarms of נפשנֶ֣פֶשׁcreatures חיחַיָּ֑הliving עוףוְעוֹף֙and let birds עוףיְעוֹפֵ֣ףfly עַלabove-ארץהָאָ֔רֶץthe earth עַלacross-פניםפְּנֵ֖יthe face of רקיערְקִ֥יעַthe expanse of שמיםהַשָּׁמָיִם :the heavens
כא בראוַיִּבְרָ֣אAnd he created אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֔יםHashem אֶת(direct object)-תניןהַתַּנִּינִ֖םthe sea monsters גדולהַגְּדֹלִ֑יםthe great וְאֵ֣תand כלכָּלevery-נפשנֶ֣פֶשׁcreature חיהַחַיָּ֣הthe living רמשהָרֹמֶ֡שֶׂתthat creeps אֲשֶׁר֩that שרץשָׁרְצ֨וּswarmed מיםהַמַּ֜יִםthe waters מיןלְמִינֵהֶ֗םaccording to their kinds וְאֵ֨תand כלכָּלevery-עוףע֤וֹףbird כנףכָּנָף֙winged מיןלְמִינֵ֔הוּaccording to its kind ראהוַיַּ֥רְאAnd he saw אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem כִּיthat it was-טובטוֹב :good
כב ברךוַיְבָ֧רֶךְAnd he blessed אֹתָ֛םthem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem אמרלֵאמֹ֑רsaying פרהפְּר֣וּBe fruitful רבהוּרְב֗וּand multiply מלאוּמִלְא֤וּand fill אֶת(direct object)-מיםהַמַּ֙יִם֙the waters יםבַּיַּמִּ֔יםin the seas עוףוְהָע֖וֹףand let the birds רבהיִ֥רֶבmultiply ארץבָּאָרֶץ :on the earth
כג היהוַיְהִיAnd it was-ערבעֶ֥רֶבevening היהוַיְהִיand it was-בקרבֹ֖קֶרmorning יוםי֥וֹםday חמישיחֲמִישִׁי :fifth
כד אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרAnd he said אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֗יםHashem יצאתּוֹצֵ֨אLet bring forth ארץהָאָ֜רֶץthe earth נפשנֶ֤פֶשׁcreatures חיחַיָּה֙living מיןלְמִינָ֔הּaccording to its kind בהמהבְּהֵמָ֥הcattle רמשוָרֶ֛מֶשׂand creeping things חיוְחַיְתוֹand beasts of-ארץאֶ֖רֶץthe earth מיןלְמִינָ֑הּaccording to its kind היהוַיְהִיand it was- כֵן :so
כה עשהוַיַּ֣עַשׂAnd he made אלהיםאֱלֹהִים֩Hashem אֶת(direct object)-חיחַיַּ֨תthe beasts of ארץהָאָ֜רֶץthe earth מיןלְמִינָ֗הּaccording to its kind וְאֶתand-בהמההַבְּהֵמָה֙the cattle מיןלְמִינָ֔הּaccording to their kind וְאֵ֛תand כלכָּלevery-רמשרֶ֥מֶשׂcreeping thing of אדמההָאֲדָמָ֖הthe ground מיןלְמִינֵ֑הוּaccording to its kind ראהוַיַּ֥רְאAnd he saw אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem כִּיthat it was-טובטוֹב :good
כו אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרAnd he said אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֔יםHashem עשהנַעֲשֶׂ֥הLet us make אדםאָדָ֛םman צלםבְּצַלְמֵ֖נוּin our image דמותכִּדְמוּתֵ֑נוּafter our likeness רדהוְיִרְדּוּ֩and they let them have dominion דגהבִדְגַ֨תover the fish of יםהַיָּ֜םthe sea עוףוּבְע֣וֹףand over the birds of שמיםהַשָּׁמַ֗יִםthe heavens בהמהוּבַבְּהֵמָה֙and over the cattle כלוּבְכָלand over all-ארץהָאָ֔רֶץthe earth כלוּבְכָלand over every-רמשהָרֶ֖מֶשׂthe creeping thing רמשהָרֹמֵ֥שׂthat creeps עַלon-ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
כז בראוַיִּבְרָ֨אAnd he created אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֤יםHashem אֶת(direct object)-אדםהָאָדָם֙the man צלםבְּצַלְמ֔וֹin His image צלםבְּצֶ֥לֶםin the image of אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem בראבָּרָ֣אHe created אֹת֑וֹhim זכרזָכָ֥רmale נקבהוּנְקֵבָ֖הand female בראבָּרָ֥אHe created אֹתָם :them
כח ברךוַיְבָ֣רֶךְAnd he blessed אֹתָם֮them אלהיםאֱלֹהִים֒Hashem אמרוַיֹּ֨אמֶרand he said לָהֶ֜םto them אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֗יםHashem פרהפְּר֥וּBe fruitful רבהוּרְב֛וּand multiply מלאוּמִלְא֥וּand fill אֶת(direct object)-ארץהָאָ֖רֶץthe earth כבשוְכִבְשֻׁ֑הָand subdue it רדהוּרְד֞וּand have dominion דגהבִּדְגַ֤תover the fish of יםהַיָּם֙the sea עוףוּבְע֣וֹףand over the birds of שמיםהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםthe heavens כלוּבְכָלand over every-חיחַיָּ֖הliving thing רמשהָרֹמֶ֥שֶׂתthat creeps עַלon-ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
כט אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרAnd he said אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֗יםHashem הִנֵּה֩Behold נתןנָתַ֨תִּיI have given לָכֶ֜םto you אֶת(direct object)-כלכָּלevery-עשבעֵ֣שֶׂבherb זרעזֹרֵ֣עַyielding זרעזֶ֗רַעseed אֲשֶׁר֙that עַלon-פניםפְּנֵ֣יthe face of כלכָלall-ארץהָאָ֔רֶץthe earth וְאֶתand-כלכָּלevery-עץהָעֵ֛ץthe tree אֲשֶׁרthat- בּ֥וֹin it פריפְרִיthe fruit of-עץעֵ֖ץa tree זרעזֹרֵ֣עַyielding זרעזָ֑רַעseed לָכֶ֥םto you היהיִהְיֶ֖הit will be אכלהלְאָכְלָה :for food
ל כלוּלְכָלAnd to every-חיחַיַּ֣תbeast of ארץהָ֠אָרֶץthe earth כלוּלְכָלand to every-עוףע֨וֹףbird of שמיםהַשָּׁמַ֜יִםthe heavens כלוּלְכֹ֣לand to everything רמשרוֹמֵ֣שׂthat creeps עַלon-ארץהָאָ֗רֶץthe earth אֲשֶׁרthat- בּוֹ֙there is נפשנֶ֣פֶשׁa living חיחַיָּ֔הsoul אֶת(direct object)-כלכָּלevery-ירקיֶ֥רֶקgreen עשבעֵ֖שֶׂבherb אכלהלְאָכְלָ֑הfor food היהוַיְהִיand it was- כֵן :so
לא ראהוַיַּ֤רְאAnd he saw אלהיםאֱלֹהִים֙Hashem אֶת(direct object)-כלכָּלeverything- אֲשֶׁ֣רthat עשהעָשָׂ֔הHe had made וְהִנֵּהand behold טובט֖וֹבit was very good מְאֹ֑ד(very) היהוַיְהִיand it was-ערבעֶ֥רֶבevening היהוַיְהִיand it was-בקרבֹ֖קֶרmorning יוםי֥וֹםday ששיהַשִּׁשִּׁי :the sixth
א כלהוַיְכֻלּ֛וּAnd they were finished שמיםהַשָּׁמַ֥יִםthe heavens ארץוְהָאָ֖רֶץand the earth כלוְכָלand all-צבאצְבָאָם :their host
ב כלהוַיְכַ֤לAnd He finished אלהיםאֱלֹהִים֙Hashem יוםבַּיּ֣וֹםon the day שביעיהַשְּׁבִיעִ֔יthe seventh מלאכהמְלַאכְתּ֖וֹHis work אֲשֶׁ֣רthat עשהעָשָׂ֑הHe had done שבתוַיִּשְׁבֹּת֙and He ceased יוםבַּיּ֣וֹםon the day שביעיהַשְּׁבִיעִ֔יthe seventh כלמִכָּלfrom all-מלאכהמְלַאכְתּ֖וֹHis work אֲשֶׁ֥רthat עשהעָשָׂה :He had done
ג ברךוַיְבָ֤רֶךְAnd He blessed אלהיםאֱלֹהִים֙Hashem אֶת(direct object)-יוםי֣וֹםthe day שביעיהַשְּׁבִיעִ֔יthe seventh קדשוַיְקַדֵּ֖שׁand He sanctified אֹת֑וֹit כִּ֣יbecause ב֤וֹin it שבתשָׁבַת֙He ceased כלמִכָּלfrom all-מלאכהמְלַאכְתּ֔וֹHis work אֲשֶׁרthat-בראבָּרָ֥אcreated אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem עשהלַעֲשׂוֹת :to do
ד אֵ֣לֶּהThese are תולדהתוֹלְד֧וֹתthe generations of שמיםהַשָּׁמַ֛יִםthe heavens ארץוְהָאָ֖רֶץand the earth בראבְּהִבָּרְאָ֑םin their being created יוםבְּי֗וֹםon the day that עשהעֲשׂ֛וֹתmade יְהוָ֥הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem ארץאֶ֥רֶץearth שמיםוְשָׁמָיִם :and heaven
ה כלוְכֹ֣לAnd every שיחשִׂ֣יחַshrub of שדההַשָּׂדֶ֗הthe field טֶ֚רֶםbefore היהיִהְיֶ֣הit was ארץבָאָ֔רֶץin the earth כלוְכָלand every-עשבעֵ֥שֶׂבherb of שדההַשָּׂדֶ֖הthe field טֶ֣רֶםbefore צמחיִצְמָ֑חit would sprout כִּי֩for לֹ֨אnot מטרהִמְטִ֜ירHe had caused it to rain יְהוָ֤הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִים֙Hashem עַלon-ארץהָאָ֔רֶץthe earth אדםוְאָדָ֣םand man אַ֔יִןthere was not עבדלַעֲבֹ֖דto till אֶת(direct object)-אדמההָאֲדָמָה :the ground
ו אדוְאֵ֖דAnd a mist עלהיַעֲלֶ֣הwent up מִןfrom-ארץהָאָ֑רֶץthe earth שקהוְהִשְׁקָ֖הand watered אֶת(direct object)-כלכָּלall-פניםפְּנֵיthe face of אדמההָאֲדָמָה :the ground
ז יצרוַיִּיצֶר֩And He formed יְהוָ֨הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֜יםHashem אֶת(direct object)-אדםהָאָדָ֗םthe man עפרעָפָר֙dust מִןfrom-אדמההָ֣אֲדָמָ֔הthe ground נפחוַיִּפַּ֥חand He blew אףבְּאַפָּ֖יוinto his nostrils נשמהנִשְׁמַ֣תthe breath of חיחַיִּ֑יםlife היהוַיְהִ֥יand it was אדםהָאָדָ֖םthe man נפשלְנֶ֥פֶשׁto a soul חיחַיָּה :living
ח נטעוַיִּטַּ֞עAnd He planted יְהוָ֧הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֛יםHashem גןגַּןa garden- בְּעֵ֖דֶןin Eden קדםמִקֶּ֑דֶםfrom the east שוםוַיָּ֣שֶׂםand He put שָׁ֔םthere אֶת(direct object)-אדםהָאָדָ֖םthe man אֲשֶׁ֥רthat יצריָצָר :He had formed
ט צמחוַיַּצְמַ֞חAnd He made sprout יְהוָ֤הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִים֙Hashem מִןfrom-אדמההָ֣אֲדָמָ֔הthe ground כלכָּלevery-עץעֵ֛ץtree חמדנֶחְמָ֥דpleasant מראהלְמַרְאֶ֖הto the sight טובוְט֣וֹבand good מאכללְמַאֲכָ֑לfor food עץוְעֵ֤ץand the tree of חיהַחַיִּים֙the life תוךבְּת֣וֹךְin the midst of גןהַגָּ֔ןthe garden עץוְעֵ֕ץand the tree of דעתהַדַּ֖עַתthe knowledge טובט֥וֹבgood רעוָרָע :and evil
י נהרוְנָהָר֙And a river יצאיֹצֵ֣אwent out מֵעֵ֔דֶןfrom Eden שקהלְהַשְׁק֖וֹתto water אֶת(direct object)-גןהַגָּ֑ןthe garden וּמִשָּׁם֙and from there פרדיִפָּרֵ֔דit parted היהוְהָיָ֖הand became ארבעלְאַרְבָּעָ֥הinto four ראשרָאשִׁים :heads
יא שםשֵׁ֥םThe name of אחדהָאֶחָ֖דthe first פִּישׁ֑וֹןis Pishon ה֣וּאthat is it סבבהַסֹּבֵ֗בwhich compasses אֵ֚ת(direct object) כלכָּלall-ארץאֶ֣רֶץthe land of הַחֲוִילָ֔הHavilah אֲשֶׁרthat- שָׁ֖םthere is זהבהַזָּהָב :the gold
יב זהבוּזֲהַ֛בAnd the gold of ארץהָאָ֥רֶץthe land הַהִ֖ואthat טובט֑וֹבis good שָׁ֥םthere is בדלחהַבְּדֹ֖לַחthe bdellium אבןוְאֶ֥בֶןand the stone of שהםהַשֹּׁהַם :the onyx
יג שםוְשֵׁםAnd the name of-נהרהַנָּהָ֥רthe river שניהַשֵּׁנִ֖יthe second גִּיח֑וֹןis Gihon ה֣וּאthe same is it סבבהַסּוֹבֵ֔בthat compasses אֵ֖ת(direct object) כלכָּלall-ארץאֶ֥רֶץthe land of כּוּשׁ :Cush
יד שםוְשֵׁ֨םAnd the name of נהרהַנָּהָ֤רthe river שלישיהַשְּׁלִישִׁי֙the third חִדֶּ֔קֶלis Tigris ה֥וּאthat is it הלךהַהֹלֵ֖ךְwhich goes קדמהקִדְמַ֣תtoward the east of אַשּׁ֑וּרAssyria נהרוְהַנָּהָ֥רand the river רביעיהָרְבִיעִ֖יthe fourth ה֥וּאthat is פְרָת :Euphrates
טו לקחוַיִּקַּ֛חAnd He took יְהוָ֥הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem אֶת(direct object)-אדםהָאָדָ֑םthe man ינחוַיַּנִּחֵ֣הוּand He placed him גןבְגַןin the garden of- עֵ֔דֶןEden עבדלְעָבְדָ֖הּto tend it שמרוּלְשָׁמְרָהּ :and to keep it
טז צוהוַיְצַו֙And He commanded יְהוָ֣הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֔יםHashem עַלon-אדםהָאָדָ֖םthe man אמרלֵאמֹ֑רsaying כלמִכֹּ֥לOf every עץעֵץtree of-גןהַגָּ֖ןthe garden אכלאָכֹ֥לeating אכלתֹּאכֵל :you may eat
יז עץוּמֵעֵ֗ץBut of the tree of דעתהַדַּ֙עַת֙the knowledge טובט֣וֹבgood רעוָרָ֔עand evil לֹ֥אnot אכלתֹאכַ֖לyou will eat מִמֶּ֑נּוּof it כִּ֗יfor יוםבְּי֛וֹםin the day אכלאֲכָלְךָ֥that you eat מִמֶּ֖נּוּof it מותמ֥וֹתdying מותתָּמוּת :you will die
יח אמרוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙And He said יְהוָ֣הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֔יםHashem לֹאno-טובט֛וֹבgood היההֱי֥וֹתthat should be אדםהָאָדָ֖םthe man בדלְבַדּ֑וֹalone עשהאֶעֱשֶׂהI will make- לּ֥וֹhim עזרעֵ֖זֶרa helper כְּנֶגְדּוֹ :corresponding to him
יט יצרוַיִּצֶר֩And He formed יְהוָ֨הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֜יםHashem מִןfrom-אדמההָאֲדָמָ֗הthe ground כלכָּלevery-חיחַיַּ֤תbeast of שדההַשָּׂדֶה֙the field וְאֵת֙and כלכָּלevery-עוףע֣וֹףbird of שמיםהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםthe heavens בואוַיָּבֵא֙and He brought him אֶלto-אדםהָ֣אָדָ֔םthe man ראהלִרְא֖וֹתto see מַהwhat-קראיִּקְרָאhe would call- ל֑וֹthem כלוְכֹל֩and whatever אֲשֶׁ֨רthat קראיִקְרָאcalled- ל֧וֹthem אדםהָאָדָ֛םthe man נפשנֶ֥פֶשׁsoul חיחַיָּ֖הliving ה֥וּאthat was שםשְׁמוֹ :its name
כ קראוַיִּקְרָ֨אAnd he gave אדםהָאָדָ֜םthe man שםשֵׁמ֗וֹתnames כללְכָלto all-בהמההַבְּהֵמָה֙the cattle עוףוּלְע֣וֹףand to the birds of שמיםהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםthe heavens כלוּלְכֹ֖לand to every חיחַיַּ֣תbeast of שדההַשָּׂדֶ֑הthe field אדםוּלְאָדָ֕םbut for man לֹאnot-מצאמָצָ֥אwas found עזרעֵ֖זֶרa helper כְּנֶגְדּוֹ :corresponding to him
כא נפלוַיַּפֵּל֩And He caused to fall יְהוָ֨הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֧יםHashem תרדמהתַּרְדֵּמָ֛הa deep sleep עַלon-אדםהָאָדָ֖םthe man ישןוַיִּישָׁ֑ןand he slept לקחוַיִּקַּ֗חand He took אחדאַחַת֙one צלעמִצַּלְעֹתָ֔יוof his ribs סגרוַיִּסְגֹּ֥רand He closed up בשרבָּשָׂ֖רthe flesh תַּחְתֶּנָּה :in its place
כב בנהוַיִּבֶן֩And He built יְהוָ֨הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֧יםHashem אֶת(direct object)-צלעהַצֵּלָ֛עthe rib אֲשֶׁרthat-לקחלָקַ֥חHe had taken מִןfrom-אדםהָאָדָ֖םthe man אשהלְאִשָּׁ֑הinto a woman בואוַיְבִאֶ֖הָand He brought her אֶלto-אדםהָאָדָם :the man
כג אמרוַיֹּאמֶר֮And He said אדםהָאָדָם֒the man זֹ֣אתThis is פעםהַפַּ֗עַםnow עצםעֶ֚צֶםbone עצםמֵעֲצָמַ֔יof my bones בשרוּבָשָׂ֖רand flesh בשרמִבְּשָׂרִ֑יof my flesh לְזֹאת֙to her קראיִקָּרֵ֣אwill be called אשהאִשָּׁ֔הWoman כִּ֥יbecause אישמֵאִ֖ישׁfrom Man לקחלֻקֳחָהwas taken- זֹּאת :she
כד עַלTherefore- כֵּן֙so עזביַעֲזָבwill leave-אישאִ֔ישׁa man אֶת(direct object)-אבאָבִ֖יוhis father וְאֶתand-אםאִמּ֑וֹhis mother דבקוְדָבַ֣קand cleave אשהבְּאִשְׁתּ֔וֹto his wife היהוְהָי֖וּand they will be בשרלְבָשָׂ֥רto flesh אחדאֶחָד :one
כה היהוַיִּהְי֤וּAnd they were שניםשְׁנֵיהֶם֙both of them ערוםעֲרוּמִּ֔יםnaked אדםהָאָדָ֖םthe man אשהוְאִשְׁתּ֑וֹand his wife וְלֹ֖אand were not בושיִתְבֹּשָׁשׁוּ :ashamed
א נחשוְהַנָּחָשׁ֙Now the serpent היההָיָ֣הwas ערוםעָר֔וּםcunning כלמִכֹּל֙from more than any חיחַיַּ֣תbeast of שדההַשָּׂדֶ֔הthe field אֲשֶׁ֥רthat עשהעָשָׂ֖הhad made יְהוָ֣הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֑יםHashem אמרוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙And he said אֶלto-אשההָ֣אִשָּׁ֔הthe woman אַ֚ףEven though כִּיthat-אמראָמַ֣רsaid אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֔יםHashem לֹ֣אnot אכלתֹאכְל֔וּyou will eat כלמִכֹּ֖לof any עץעֵ֥ץtree of גןהַגָּן :the garden
ב אמרוַתֹּ֥אמֶרAnd she said אשההָאִשָּׁ֖הthe woman אֶלto-נחשהַנָּחָ֑שׁthe serpent פרימִפְּרִ֥יOf the fruit of עץעֵץthe trees of-גןהַגָּ֖ןthe garden אכלנֹאכֵל :we may eat
ג פריוּמִפְּרִ֣יBut of the fruit of עץהָעֵץ֮the tree אֲשֶׁ֣רthat תוךבְּתוֹךְin the midst of-גןהַגָּן֒the garden אמראָמַ֣רsaid אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֗יםHashem לֹ֤אnot אכלתֹאכְלוּ֙you will eat מִמֶּ֔נּוּof it וְלֹ֥אand not נגעתִגְּע֖וּwill you touch בּ֑וֹit פֶּןso that not-מותתְּמֻתוּן :you die
ד אמרוַיֹּ֥אמֶרAnd He said נחשהַנָּחָ֖שׁthe serpent אֶלto-אשההָאִשָּׁ֑הthe woman לֹאnot-מותמ֖וֹתdying מותתְּמֻתוּן :you will die
ה כִּ֚יFor ידעיֹדֵ֣עַknows אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֔יםHashem כִּ֗יthat יוםבְּיוֹם֙on the day אכלאֲכָלְכֶ֣םyou eat מִמֶּ֔נּוּof it פקחוְנִפְקְח֖וּthen will be opened עיןעֵינֵיכֶ֑םyour eyes היהוִהְיִיתֶם֙and you will be אלהיםכֵּאלֹהִ֔יםlike Hashem ידעיֹדְעֵ֖יknowing טובט֥וֹבgood רעוָרָע :and evil
ו ראהוַתֵּ֣רֶאAnd she saw אשההָאִשָּׁ֡הthe woman כִּ֣יthat טובטוֹב֩good עץהָעֵ֨ץthe tree was מאכללְמַאֲכָ֜לfor food וְכִ֧יand that תאוהתַאֲוָהa delight- ה֣וּאit was עיןלָעֵינַ֗יִםto the eyes חמדוְנֶחְמָ֤דand desirable עץהָעֵץ֙the tree was שכללְהַשְׂכִּ֔ילto make one wise לקחוַתִּקַּ֥חand she took פרימִפִּרְי֖וֹof its fruit אכלוַתֹּאכַ֑לand she ate נתןוַתִּתֵּ֧ןand she gave גַּםalso-אישלְאִישָׁ֛הּto her husband עִמָּ֖הּwith her אכלוַיֹּאכַל :and he ate
ז פקחוַתִּפָּקַ֙חְנָה֙And they were opened עיןעֵינֵ֣יthe eyes of שניםשְׁנֵיהֶ֔םthem both ידעוַיֵּ֣דְע֔וּand they knew כִּ֥יthat עירםעֵירֻמִּ֖יםnaked הֵ֑םthey were תפרוַיִּתְפְּרוּ֙and they sewed together עלהעֲלֵ֣הleaves of תאןתְאֵנָ֔הa fig tree עשהוַיַּעֲשׂ֥וּand they made לָהֶ֖םfor themselves חגורחֲגֹרֹת :girdles
ח שמעוַיִּשְׁמְע֞וּAnd they heard אֶת(direct object)-קולק֨וֹלthe voice of יְהוָ֧הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֛יםHashem הלךמִתְהַלֵּ֥ךְwalking גןבַּגָּ֖ןin the garden רוחלְר֣וּחַto the breeze יוםהַיּ֑וֹםthe day חבאוַיִּתְחַבֵּ֨אand he hid אדםהָאָדָ֜םthe man אשהוְאִשְׁתּ֗וֹand his wife פניםמִפְּנֵי֙from the presence of יְהוָ֣הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֔יםHashem תוךבְּת֖וֹךְin the midst עץעֵ֥ץthe trees of גןהַגָּן :the garden
ט קראוַיִּקְרָ֛אAnd He called יְהוָ֥הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem אֶלto-אדםהָאָדָ֑םthe man אמרוַיֹּ֥אמֶרand he said ל֖וֹto him אַיֶּכָּה :Where are you
י אמרוַיֹּ֕אמֶרAnd he said אֶת(direct object)-קולקֹלְךָ֥Your voice שמעשָׁמַ֖עְתִּיI heard גןבַּגָּ֑ןin the garden יראוָאִירָ֛אand I was afraid כִּיbecause-עירםעֵירֹ֥םnaked אָנֹ֖כִיI am חבאוָאֵחָבֵא :and I hid
יא אמרוַיֹּ֕אמֶרAnd He said מִ֚יWho נגדהִגִּ֣ידtold לְךָ֔to you כִּ֥יthat עירםעֵירֹ֖םnaked אָ֑תָּהare you הֲמִןHave from-עץהָעֵ֗ץthe tree אֲשֶׁ֧רthat צוהצִוִּיתִ֛יךָI commanded you לְבִלְתִּ֥יnot אכלאֲכָלto eat- מִמֶּ֖נּוּfrom it אכלאָכָלְתָּ :have you eaten
יב אמרוַיֹּ֖אמֶרAnd He said אדםהָאָדָ֑םthe man אשההָאִשָּׁה֙The woman אֲשֶׁ֣רthat נתןנָתַ֣תָּהYou gave עִמָּדִ֔יto be with me הִ֛ואshe נתןנָתְנָהshe gave- לִּ֥יto me מִןfrom-עץהָעֵ֖ץthe tree אכלוָאֹכֵל :and I ate
יג אמרוַיֹּ֨אמֶרAnd He said יְהוָ֧הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֛יםHashem אשהלָאִשָּׁ֖הto the woman מַהWhat- זֹּ֣אתis this עשהעָשִׂ֑יתyou have done אמרוַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙And she said אשההָאִשָּׁ֔הthe woman נחשהַנָּחָ֥שׁThe serpent נשאהִשִּׁיאַ֖נִיhe deceived me אכלוָאֹכֵל :and I ate
יד אמרוַיֹּאמֶר֩And He said יְהוָ֨הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֥יםHashem אֶלto-נחשהַנָּחָשׁ֮the serpent כִּ֣יBecause עשהעָשִׂ֣יתָyou have done זֹּאת֒this ארראָר֤וּרcursed אַתָּה֙are you כלמִכָּלfrom more than all-בהמההַבְּהֵמָ֔הthe cattle כלוּמִכֹּ֖לand more than every חיחַיַּ֣תbeast of שדההַשָּׂדֶ֑הthe field עַלon-גחוןגְּחֹנְךָ֣your belly ילךתֵלֵ֔ךְwill you go עפרוְעָפָ֥רand dust אכלתֹּאכַ֖לwill you eat כלכָּלall-יוםיְמֵ֥יthe days of חיחַיֶּיךָ :your life
טו איבהוְאֵיבָ֣הAnd enmity שיתאָשִׁ֗יתI will put בֵּינְךָ֙between you וּבֵ֣יןand between אשההָאִשָּׁ֔הthe woman וּבֵ֥יןand between זרעזַרְעֲךָ֖your seed וּבֵ֣יןand between זרעזַרְעָ֑הּher seed ה֚וּאhe שוףיְשׁוּפְךָ֣he will strike you ראשרֹ֔אשׁhead וְאַתָּ֖הand you שוףתְּשׁוּפֶ֥נּוּyou will strike his עקבעָקֵב :heel
טז אֶלTo-אשההָאִשָּׁ֣הthe woman אמראָמַ֗רHe said רבההַרְבָּ֤הMultiplying רבהאַרְבֶּה֙I will multiply עצבוןעִצְּבוֹנֵ֣ךְyour pain הרוןוְהֵרֹנֵ֔ךְand your conception עצבבְּעֶ֖צֶבin pain ילדתֵּלְדִ֣יyou will give birth בןבָנִ֑יםchildren וְאֶלand toward-אישאִישֵׁךְ֙your husband תשוקהתְּשׁ֣וּקָתֵ֔ךְyour desire וְה֖וּאand he משליִמְשָׁלhe will rule- בָּךְ :in you
יז וּלְאָדָ֣םAnd to Adam אמראָמַ֗רHe said כִּיBecause שמעשָׁמַעְתָּ֮you have hearkened קוללְק֣וֹלto the voice of אשהאִשְׁתֶּךָ֒your wife אכלוַתֹּ֙אכַל֙and she have eaten מִןof-עץהָעֵ֔ץthe tree אֲשֶׁ֤רthat צוהצִוִּיתִ֙יךָ֙I commanded you אמרלֵאמֹ֔רsaying לֹ֥אnot אכלתֹאכַ֖לwill you eat מִמֶּ֑נּוּof it ארראֲרוּרָ֤הcursed is אדמההָאֲדָמָה֙the ground עבורבַּעֲבוּרֶ֔ךָfor your sake עצבוןבְּעִצָּבוֹן֙in toil אכלתֹּאכֲלֶ֔נָּהyou will eat of it כלכֹּ֖לall יוםיְמֵ֥יthe days of חיחַיֶּיךָ :your life
יח קוץוְק֥וֹץAnd thorns דרדרוְדַרְדַּ֖רand thistles צמחתַּצְמִ֣יחַit will sprout לָ֑ךְto you אכלוְאָכַלְתָּ֖and you will eat אֶת(direct object)-עשבעֵ֥שֶׂבthe herb of שדההַשָּׂדֶה :the field
יט זעהבְּזֵעַ֤תBy the sweat of אףאַפֶּ֙יךָ֙your face אכלתֹּ֣אכַלwill you eat לחםלֶ֔חֶםbread עַ֤דtill שובשׁוּבְךָ֙you return אֶלto-אדמההָ֣אֲדָמָ֔הthe ground כִּ֥יfor מִמֶּ֖נָּהout of it לקחלֻקָּ֑חְתָּyou were taken כִּיfor-עפרעָפָ֣רdust אַ֔תָּהare you וְאֶלand to-עפרעָפָ֖רdust שובתָּשׁוּב :you will return
כ קראוַיִּקְרָ֧אAnd He called אדםהָאָדָ֛םthe man שםשֵׁ֥םthe name of אשהאִשְׁתּ֖וֹhis wife חַוָּ֑הEve כִּ֛יbecause הִ֥ואshe היההָיְתָ֖הwas אםאֵ֥םthe mother of כלכָּלall-חיחָי :living
כא עשהוַיַּעַשׂ֩And He made יְהוָ֨הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֜יםHashem אדםלְאָדָ֧םfor Adam אשהוּלְאִשְׁתּ֛וֹand for his wife כתנתכָּתְנ֥וֹתgarments of עורע֖וֹרskins לבשוַיַּלְבִּשֵׁם :and He clothed them
כב אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרAnd He said יְהוָ֣הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֗יםHashem הֵ֤ןBehold אדםהָאָדָם֙the man היההָיָה֙is become אחדכְּאַחַ֣דas one of מִמֶּ֔נּוּfrom us ידעלָדַ֖עַתto know טובט֣וֹבgood רעוָרָ֑עand evil וְעַתָּ֣הand now פֶּןso that not-שלחיִשְׁלַ֣חhe will put forth ידיָד֗וֹhis hand לקחוְלָקַח֙and he took גַּ֚םalso עץמֵעֵ֣ץof the tree of חיהַחַיִּ֔יםthe life אכלוְאָכַ֖לand he ate חייוָחַ֥יand live עולםלְעֹלָם :forever
כג שלחוַיְשַׁלְּחֵ֛הוּAnd He sent him forth יְהוָ֥הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem גןמִגַּןfrom the garden of- עֵ֑דֶןEden עבדלַעֲבֹד֙to till אֶת(direct object)-אדמההָ֣אֲדָמָ֔הthe ground אֲשֶׁ֥רthat לקחלֻקַּ֖חhe was taken מִשָּׁם :from there
כד גרשוַיְגָ֖רֶשׁAnd He drove out אֶת(direct object)-אדםהָאָדָ֑םthe man שכןוַיַּשְׁכֵּן֩and He caused to dwell קדםמִקֶּ֨דֶםat the east of גןלְגַןto the garden of- עֵ֜דֶןEden אֶת(direct object)-כרובהַכְּרֻבִ֗יםthe cherubim וְאֵ֨תand להטלַ֤הַטto the flaming חרבהַחֶ֙רֶב֙the sword הפךהַמִּתְהַפֶּ֔כֶתthat turned every way שמרלִשְׁמֹ֕רto keep אֶת(direct object)-דרךדֶּ֖רֶךְthe way to עץעֵ֥ץthe tree of חיהַחַיִּים :the life
א אדםוְהָ֣אָדָ֔םAnd the man ידעיָדַ֖עhe knew אֶת(direct object)- חַוָּ֣הEve אשהאִשְׁתּ֑וֹhis wife הרהוַתַּ֙הַר֙and she conceived ילדוַתֵּ֣לֶדand she gave birth אֶת(direct object)- קַ֔יִןKayin אמרוַתֹּ֕אמֶרand she said קנהקָנִ֥יתִיI have acquired אישאִ֖ישׁa man אֶתwith the help of- יְהוָה :Hashem
ב יסףוַתֹּ֣סֶףAnd she continued ילדלָלֶ֔דֶתto give birth אֶת(direct object)-אחאָחִ֖יוhis brother אֶת(direct object)- הָ֑בֶלHevel היהוַיְהִיAnd it was- הֶ֙בֶל֙Hevel רעהרֹ֣עֵהa keeper of צאןצֹ֔אןsheep וְקַ֕יִןbut Kayin היההָיָ֖הwas עבדעֹבֵ֥דa tiller of אדמהאֲדָמָה :the ground
ג היהוַיְהִ֖יAnd it was קץמִקֵּ֣ץfrom time יוםיָמִ֑יםit came to pass בואוַיָּבֵ֨אand he brought קַ֜יִןKayin פרימִפְּרִ֧יof the fruit of אדמההָאֲדָמָ֛הthe ground מנחהמִנְחָ֖הan offering לַיהוָה :to the Lord
ד וְהֶ֨בֶלAnd Hevel בואהֵבִ֥יאhe brought גַםalso- ה֛וּאhe בכורהמִבְּכֹר֥וֹתof the firstlings of צאןצֹאנ֖וֹhis flock חלבוּמֵחֶלְבֵהֶ֑ןand of the fat of it שעהוַיִּ֣שַׁעAnd He paid heed יְהוָ֔הHashem אֶלto- הֶ֖בֶלHevel וְאֶלand to-מנחהמִנְחָתוֹ :his offering
ה וְאֶלBut to- קַ֥יִןKayin וְאֶלand to-מנחהמִנְחָת֖וֹhis offering לֹ֣אnot שעהשָׁעָ֑הdid He pay heed חרהוַיִּ֤חַרAnd it burned לְקַ֙יִן֙to Kayin מְאֹ֔דgreatly נפלוַיִּפְּל֖וּand they fell פניםפָּנָיו :his countenance
ו אמרוַיֹּ֥אמֶרAnd He said יְהוָ֖הHashem אֶלto- קָ֑יִןKayin לָ֚מָּהWhy חרהחָ֣רָהhas it burned לָ֔ךְto you וְלָ֖מָּהand why נפלנָפְל֥וּhave they fallen פניםפָנֶיךָ :your countenance
ז הֲל֤וֹאIf אִםif-יטבתֵּיטִיב֙you improve שאתשְׂאֵ֔תwill there not be an uplifting וְאִם֙and if לֹ֣אnot יטבתֵיטִ֔יבimprove פתחלַפֶּ֖תַחto at the door חטאהחַטָּ֣אתsin רבץרֹבֵ֑ץit crouches וְאֵלֶ֙יךָ֙and to you תשוקהתְּשׁ֣וּקָת֔וֹis its desire וְאַתָּ֖הbut you משלתִּמְשָׁלyou will rule- בּוֹ :over it
ח אמרוַיֹּ֥אמֶרAnd he talked קַ֖יִןKayin אֶלwith- הֶ֣בֶלHevel אחאָחִ֑יוhis brother היהוַיְהִי֙and it was היהבִּהְיוֹתָ֣םin their being שדהבַּשָּׂדֶ֔הin the field קוםוַיָּ֥קָםand he rose up קַ֛יִןKayin אֶלagainst- הֶ֥בֶלHevel אחאָחִ֖יוhis brother הרגוַיַּהַרְגֵהוּ :and he killed him
ט אמרוַיֹּ֤אמֶרAnd He said יְהוָה֙Hashem אֶלto- קַ֔יִןKayin אֵ֖יWhere is הֶ֣בֶלHevel אחאָחִ֑יךָyour brother אמרוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙And he said לֹ֣אnot ידעיָדַ֔עְתִּיI knew שמרהֲשֹׁמֵ֥רAm I the keeper of אחאָחִ֖יmy brother אָנֹכִי :I
י אמרוַיֹּ֖אמֶרAnd He said מֶ֣הWhat עשהעָשִׂ֑יתָhave you done קולק֚וֹלthe voice of דםדְּמֵ֣יthe bloods of אחאָחִ֔יךָyour brother צעקצֹעֲקִ֥יםare crying out אֵלַ֖יto Me מִןfrom-אדמההָאֲדָמָה :the ground
יא וְעַתָּ֖הAnd now ארראָר֣וּרcursed are אָ֑תָּהyou מִןfrom-אדמההָאֲדָמָה֙the earth אֲשֶׁ֣רthat פצהפָּצְתָ֣הshe opened אֶת(direct object)-פהפִּ֔יהָher mouth לקחלָקַ֛חַתto take אֶת(direct object)-דםדְּמֵ֥יthe bloods of אחאָחִ֖יךָyour brother ידמִיָּדֶךָ :from your hand
יב כִּ֤יWhen עבדתַעֲבֹד֙you will till אֶת(direct object)-אדמההָ֣אֲדָמָ֔הthe ground לֹאno-יסףתֹסֵ֥ףshe will continue נתןתֵּתto give-כחכֹּחָ֖הּto you her strength לָ֑ךְto you נוענָ֥עa fugitive נודוָנָ֖דand a wanderer היהתִּהְיֶ֥הyou will be ארץבָאָרֶץ :in the earth
יג אמרוַיֹּ֥אמֶרAnd He said קַ֖יִןKayin אֶלto- יְהוָ֑הHashem גדולגָּד֥וֹלGreater is עוןעֲוֺנִ֖יmy iniquity נשאמִנְּשׂוֹא :from than i can bear
יד הֵן֩Behold גרשגֵּרַ֨שְׁתָּYou have driven out אֹתִ֜יme יוםהַיּ֗וֹםthis day מֵעַל֙from פניםפְּנֵ֣יthe face of אדמההָאֲדָמָ֔הthe earth פניםוּמִפָּנֶ֖יךָand from Your face סתראֶסָּתֵ֑רI will be hidden היהוְהָיִ֜יתִיand I will be נוענָ֤עa fugitive נודוָנָד֙and a wanderer ארץבָּאָ֔רֶץin the earth היהוְהָיָ֥הand it will be כלכָלthat anyone-מצאמֹצְאִ֖יwhoever finds me הרגיַהַרְגֵנִי :he will kill me
טו אמרוַיֹּ֧אמֶרAnd He said ל֣וֹto him יְהוָ֗הHashem לָכֵן֙Therefore כלכָּלwhosoever-הרגהֹרֵ֣גwho slays קַ֔יִןKayin שבעתיםשִׁבְעָתַ֖יִםsevenfold נקםיֻקָּ֑םhe will be avenged שוםוַיָּ֨שֶׂםAnd he set יְהוָ֤הHashem לְקַ֙יִן֙for Kayin אותא֔וֹתa mark לְבִלְתִּ֥יso that not נכההַכּוֹתshould strike- אֹת֖וֹhim כלכָּלany-מצאמֹצְאוֹ :finding him
טז יצאוַיֵּ֥צֵאAnd he went out קַ֖יִןKayin פניםמִלִּפְנֵ֣יfrom the presence of יְהוָ֑הHashem ישבוַיֵּ֥שֶׁבand he dwelt ארץבְּאֶרֶץin the land of- נ֖וֹדNod קדמהקִדְמַתon the east of- עֵדֶן :Eden
יז ידעוַיֵּ֤דַעAnd he knew קַ֙יִן֙Kayin אֶת(direct object)-אשהאִשְׁתּ֔וֹhis wife הרהוַתַּ֖הַרand she conceived ילדוַתֵּ֣לֶדand she gave birth אֶת(direct object)- חֲנ֑וֹךְEnoch היהוַיְהִי֙and it was בנהבֹּ֣נֶהbuilding עירעִ֔ירa city קראוַיִּקְרָא֙and he called שםשֵׁ֣םthe name of עירהָעִ֔ירthe city שםכְּשֵׁ֖םafter the name of בןבְּנ֥וֹhis son חֲנוֹךְ :Enoch
יח ילדוַיִּוָּלֵ֤דAnd he was born לַחֲנוֹךְ֙to Enoch אֶת(direct object)- עִירָ֔דIrad וְעִירָ֕דand Irad ילדיָלַ֖דhe gave birth אֶת(direct object)- מְחוּיָאֵ֑לMehujael וּמְחִיָּיאֵ֗לand Mehujael ילדיָלַד֙he gave birth אֶת(direct object)- מְת֣וּשָׁאֵ֔לMethushael וּמְתוּשָׁאֵ֖לand Methushael ילדיָלַ֥דhe gave birth אֶת(direct object)- לָמֶךְ :to Lamech
יט לקחוַיִּקַּחAnd He took- ל֥וֹto him לֶ֖מֶךְLamech שניםשְׁתֵּ֣יtwo אשהנָשִׁ֑יםwives שםשֵׁ֤םthe name of אחדהָאַחַת֙the one עָדָ֔הwas Adah שםוְשֵׁ֥םand the name of שניהַשֵּׁנִ֖יתthe other צִלָּה :Zillah
כ ילדוַתֵּ֥לֶדAnd she bore עָדָ֖הAdah אֶת(direct object)- יָבָ֑לJabal ה֣וּאhe היההָיָ֔הwas אבאֲבִ֕יthe father of ישביֹשֵׁ֥בsuch as dwell in אהלאֹ֖הֶלtents מקנהוּמִקְנֶה :and have cattle
כא שםוְשֵׁ֥םAnd the name of אחאָחִ֖יוhis brother יוּבָ֑לwas Jubal ה֣וּאhe היההָיָ֔הwas אבאֲבִ֕יthe father of כלכָּלall-תפשתֹּפֵ֥שׂsuch as handle כנורכִּנּ֖וֹרthe harp עוגבוְעוּגָב :and pipe
כב וְצִלָּ֣הAnd Zillah גַםshe also- הִ֗ואbore ילדיָלְדָה֙she bore אֶת(direct object)- תּ֣וּבַלTubal-cain קַ֔יִןKayin לטשלֹטֵ֕שׁthe forger of כלכָּלevery-חרשחֹרֵ֥שׁcutting instrument of נחשתנְחֹ֖שֶׁתbrass ברזלוּבַרְזֶ֑לand iron אחותוַאֲח֥וֹתand the sister of תּוּבַלTubal-cain- קַ֖יִןKayin נַעֲמָה :was Naamah
כג אמרוַיֹּ֨אמֶרAnd He said לֶ֜מֶךְLamech אשהלְנָשָׁ֗יוto his wives עָדָ֤הAdah וְצִלָּה֙and Zillah שמעשְׁמַ֣עַןyou women hear קולקוֹלִ֔יmy voice אשהנְשֵׁ֣יyou wives of לֶ֔מֶךְLamech אזןהַאְזֵ֖נָּהyou women hearken אמרהאִמְרָתִ֑יmy speech כִּ֣יfor אישאִ֤ישׁa man הרגהָרַ֙גְתִּי֙I have killed פצעלְפִצְעִ֔יfor my wound ילדוְיֶ֖לֶדand a young man חבורהלְחַבֻּרָתִי :for my bruise
כד כִּ֥יIf שבעתיםשִׁבְעָתַ֖יִםsevenfold נקםיֻקַּםhe will be avenged- קָ֑יִןKayin וְלֶ֖מֶךְand Lamech שבעיםשִׁבְעִ֥יםseventy שבעוְשִׁבְעָה :and sevenfold
כה ידעוַיֵּ֨דַעAnd he knew אָדָ֥םAdam עוֹד֙yet again אֶת(direct object)-אשהאִשְׁתּ֔וֹhis wife ילדוַתֵּ֣לֶדand she bore בןבֵּ֔ןa son קראוַתִּקְרָ֥אand she called אֶת(direct object)-שםשְׁמ֖וֹhis name שֵׁ֑תSeth כִּ֣יFor שיתשָׁתHe placed- לִ֤יme אלהיםאֱלֹהִים֙Hashem זרעזֶ֣רַעanother seed אחראַחֵ֔רinstead of תַּ֣חַתinstead of הֶ֔בֶלHevel כִּ֥יwhom הרגהֲרָג֖וֹhe killed him קָיִן :Kayin
כו וּלְשֵׁ֤תAnd to Seth גַּםto him also- הוּא֙there ילדיֻלַּדhe was born-בןבֵּ֔ןa son קראוַיִּקְרָ֥אand he called אֶת(direct object)-שםשְׁמ֖וֹhis name אֱנ֑וֹשׁEnosh אָ֣זthen חללהוּחַ֔לit was begun קראלִקְרֹ֖אto call שםבְּשֵׁ֥םon the name of יְהוָה :Hashem
א זֶ֣הThis is ספרסֵ֔פֶרthe book of תולדהתּוֹלְדֹ֖תthe generations of אָדָ֑םAdam יוםבְּי֗וֹםon the day בראבְּרֹ֤אHe created אלהיםאֱלֹהִים֙Hashem אדםאָדָ֔םman דמותבִּדְמ֥וּתin the likeness of אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem עשהעָשָׂ֥הHe made אֹתוֹ :him
ב זכרזָכָ֥רMale נקבהוּנְקֵבָ֖הand female בראבְּרָאָ֑םHe created them ברךוַיְבָ֣רֶךְand He blessed אֹתָ֗םthem קראוַיִּקְרָ֤אand He called אֶת(direct object)-שםשְׁמָם֙their name אדםאָדָ֔םAdam יוםבְּי֖וֹםon the day בראהִבָּרְאָם :they were created
ג חיהוַיְחִ֣יAnd he lived אָדָ֗םAdam שלושיםשְׁלֹשִׁ֤יםthirty מאהוּמְאַת֙and a hundred שנהשָׁנָ֔הyears ילדוַיּ֥וֹלֶדand he gave birth דמותבִּדְמוּת֖וֹin his likeness צלםכְּצַלְמ֑וֹaccording to his image קראוַיִּקְרָ֥אand he called אֶת(direct object)-שםשְׁמ֖וֹhis name שֵׁת :Seth
ד היהוַיִּהְי֣וּAnd they were יוםיְמֵיthe days of- אָדָ֗םAdam אַחֲרֵי֙after ילדהוֹלִיד֣וֹhis begetting אֶת(direct object)- שֵׁ֔תSeth שמנהשְׁמֹנֶ֥הeight מאהמֵאֹ֖תhundred שנהשָׁנָ֑הyears ילדוַיּ֥וֹלֶדand he gave birth בןבָּנִ֖יםsons בתוּבָנוֹת :and daughters

כט קראוַיִּקְרָ֧אAnd he called אֶת(direct object)-שםשְׁמ֛וֹhis name נֹ֖חַNoach אמרלֵאמֹ֑רsaying זֶ֠הThis one נחםיְנַחֲמֵ֤נוּhe will comfort us מעשהמִמַּעֲשֵׂ֙נוּ֙from our works עצבוןוּמֵעִצְּב֣וֹןand from the toil of ידיָדֵ֔ינוּour hands מִןfrom-אדמההָ֣אֲדָמָ֔הthe ground אֲשֶׁ֥רthat ארראֵרְרָ֖הּHe cursed it יְהוָה :Hashem

לא היהוַיְהִי֙And it was כלכָּלall-יוםיְמֵיthe days of- לֶ֔מֶךְLamech שבעשֶׁ֤בַעseven שבעיםוְשִׁבְעִים֙and seventy שנהשָׁנָ֔הyears שבעוּשְׁבַ֥עand seven מאהמֵא֖וֹתhundred שנהשָׁנָ֑הyears מותוַיָּמֹת :and he died
לב היהוַיְהִיAnd it was- נֹ֕חַNoach בןבֶּןthe son of-חמשחֲמֵ֥שׁfive מאהמֵא֖וֹתhundred שנהשָׁנָ֑הyears ילדוַיּ֣וֹלֶדand he gave birth נֹ֔חַNoach אֶת(direct object)- שֵׁ֖םShem אֶת(direct object)- חָ֥םHam וְאֶתand (direct object)- יָפֶת :Japheth
א היהוַיְהִי֙And it was כִּיwhen-חללהֵחֵ֣לbegan אדםהָאָדָ֔םthe man רבבלָרֹ֖בto multiply עַלon-פניםפְּנֵ֣יthe face of אדמההָאֲדָמָ֑הthe ground בתוּבָנ֖וֹתand daughters ילדיֻלְּד֥וּthey were born לָהֶם :to them
ב ראהוַיִּרְא֤וּAnd they saw בןבְנֵיthe sons of-אלהיםהָאֱלֹהִים֙the nobles אֶת(direct object)-בתבְּנ֣וֹתthe daughters of אדםהָאָדָ֔םthe man כִּ֥יthat טובטֹבֹ֖תfair הֵ֑נָּהthey are לקחוַיִּקְח֤וּand they took לָהֶם֙for themselves אשהנָשִׁ֔יםwives כלמִכֹּ֖לfrom all אֲשֶׁ֥רthat בחרבָּחָרוּ :they chose
ג אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרAnd He said יְהוָ֗הHashem לֹאnot-דיןיָד֨וֹןwill strive רוחרוּחִ֤יMy spirit אדםבָאָדָם֙in man עולםלְעֹלָ֔םforever בְּשַׁגַּ֖םfor that he also ה֣וּאis בשרבָשָׂ֑רflesh היהוְהָי֣וּand they will be יוםיָמָ֔יוhis days מאהמֵאָ֥הfrom a hundred עשריםוְעֶשְׂרִ֖יםand twenty שנהשָׁנָה :years
ד נפילהַנְּפִלִ֞יםThe Nephilim היההָי֣וּthey were ארץבָאָרֶץ֮in the earth יוםבַּיָּמִ֣יםin the days הָהֵם֒those וְגַ֣םand also אַחֲרֵיafter- כֵ֗ןso אֲשֶׁ֨רthat בואיָבֹ֜אוּthey came בןבְּנֵ֤יthe sons of אלהיםהָאֱלֹהִים֙the nobles אֶלto-בתבְּנ֣וֹתthe daughters of אדםהָאָדָ֔םthe man ילדוְיָלְד֖וּand they bore children לָהֶ֑םto them הֵ֧מָּהthey are גבורהַגִּבֹּרִ֛יםthe mighty men אֲשֶׁ֥רthat עולםמֵעוֹלָ֖םfrom of old אישאַנְשֵׁ֥יthe men of שםהַשֵּׁם :the name
ה ראהוַיַּ֣רְאAnd He saw יְהוָ֔הHashem כִּ֥יthat רברַבָּ֛הwas great רערָעַ֥תthe wickedness of אדםהָאָדָ֖םthe man ארץבָּאָ֑רֶץin the earth כלוְכָלand every-יצריֵ֙צֶר֙imagination of מחשבהמַחְשְׁבֹ֣תthe thoughts of לבלִבּ֔וֹhis heart רַ֥קwas only רערַ֖עevil כלכָּלall-יוםהַיּוֹם :the day
ו נחםוַיִּנָּ֣חֶםAnd He regretted יְהוָ֔הHashem כִּיthat-עשהעָשָׂ֥הHe had made אֶת(direct object)-אדםהָאָדָ֖םthe man ארץבָּאָ֑רֶץin the earth עצבוַיִּתְעַצֵּ֖בand He was pained אֶלinto-לבלִבּוֹ :His heart
ז אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרAnd He said יְהוָ֗הHashem מחהאֶמְחֶ֨הI will blot out אֶת(direct object)-אדםהָאָדָ֤םthe man אֲשֶׁרthat-בראבָּרָ֙אתִי֙I have created מֵעַל֙from on פניםפְּנֵ֣יthe face of אדמההָאֲדָמָ֔הthe ground אדםמֵאָדָם֙from man עַדto-בהמהבְּהֵמָ֔הbeast עַדto-רמשרֶ֖מֶשׂcreeping thing וְעַדand to-עוףע֣וֹףfowl of שמיםהַשָּׁמָ֑יִםthe heavens כִּ֥יfor נחםנִחַ֖מְתִּיI regret כִּ֥יthat עשהעֲשִׂיתִם :I have made them
ח וְנֹ֕חַBut Noach מצאמָ֥צָאfound חןחֵ֖ןgrace עיןבְּעֵינֵ֥יin the eyes of יְהוָה :Hashem
ט אֵ֚לֶּהThese are תולדהתּוֹלְדֹ֣תthe generations of נֹ֔חַNoach נֹ֗חַNoach אישאִ֥ישׁa man צדיקצַדִּ֛יקrighteous תמיםתָּמִ֥יםperfect היההָיָ֖הhe was דורבְּדֹרֹתָ֑יוin his generations אֶתwith-אלהיםהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem הלךהִתְהַלֶּךְhe walked- נֹחַ :Noach
י ילדוַיּ֥וֹלֶדand he gave birth נֹ֖חַNoach שלוששְׁלֹשָׁ֣הthree בןבָנִ֑יםsons אֶת(direct object)- שֵׁ֖םShem אֶת(direct object)- חָ֥םCham וְאֶתand (direct object)- יָפֶתYaphes
יא שחתוַתִּשָּׁחֵ֥תAnd it was destoryed ארץהָאָ֖רֶץthe earth פניםלִפְנֵ֣יin front of אלהיםהָאֱלֹהִ֑יםHashem מלאוַתִּמָּלֵ֥אand it was filled ארץהָאָ֖רֶץthe earth חמסחָמָסrobbery
יב ראהוַיַּ֧רְאAnd He saw אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֛יםHashem אֶת(direct object)-ארץהָאָ֖רֶץthe earth וְהִנֵּ֣הand behold שחתנִשְׁחָ֑תָהit was destroyed כִּיbecause-שחתהִשְׁחִ֧יתhad destroyed כלכָּלall-בשרבָּשָׂ֛רflesh אֶת(direct object)-דרךדַּרְכּ֖וֹits way עַלon-ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
יג אמרוַיֹּ֨אמֶרAnd He said אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֜יםHashem לְנֹ֗חַto Noach קץקֵ֤ץthe end of כלכָּלall-בשרבָּשָׂר֙flesh בואבָּ֣אhas come פניםלְפָנַ֔יin front of Me כִּיbecause-מלאמָלְאָ֥הis filled ארץהָאָ֛רֶץthe earth חמסחָמָ֖סrobbery פניםמִפְּנֵיהֶ֑םfrom before them וְהִנְנִ֥יand behold I am שחתמַשְׁחִיתָ֖םdestroying them אֶתwith-ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
יד עשהעֲשֵׂ֤הMake לְךָ֙for yourself תבהתֵּבַ֣תan box of עץעֲצֵיwood of-גפרגֹ֔פֶרgopher קןקִנִּ֖יםcompartments עשהתַּעֲשֶׂ֣הyou will make אֶת(direct object)-תבההַתֵּבָ֑הthe box כפרוְכָפַרְתָּ֥and you will tar אֹתָ֛הּit ביתמִבַּ֥יִתfrom inside חוץוּמִח֖וּץand from outside כפרבַּכֹּפֶרwith tar
טו וְזֶ֕הAnd this is אֲשֶׁ֥רthat עשהתַּעֲשֶׂ֖הyou will make אֹתָ֑הּit שלוששְׁלֹ֧שׁthree מאהמֵא֣וֹתhundred אמהאַמָּ֗הamah ארךאֹ֚רֶךְthe length of תבההַתֵּבָ֔הthe ark חמשיםחֲמִשִּׁ֤יםfifty אמהאַמָּה֙amah רחברָחְבָּ֔הּits width שלושיםוּשְׁלֹשִׁ֥יםand thirty אמהאַמָּ֖הamah קומהקוֹמָתָהּits height
טז צהרצֹ֣הַרA window עשהתַּעֲשֶׂ֣הyou will make תבהלַתֵּבָ֗הfor the ark וְאֶלand to-אמהאַמָּה֙a cubit כלהתְּכַלֶּ֣נָּהyou will finish it מִלְמַ֔עְלָהfrom above פתחוּפֶ֥תַחand the door of תבההַתֵּבָ֖הthe ark צדבְּצִדָּ֣הּin its side שוםתָּשִׂ֑יםyou will place תחתיתַּחְתִּיִּ֛םlower שנישְׁנִיִּ֥םsecond שלישיוּשְׁלִשִׁ֖יםand third עשהתַּעֲשֶׂהָ :you will make it
יז וַאֲנִ֗יAnd I הִנְנִי֩behold I בואמֵבִ֨יאam bringing אֶת(direct object)-מבולהַמַּבּ֥וּלthe flood מיםמַ֙יִם֙of waters עַלon-ארץהָאָ֔רֶץthe earth שחתלְשַׁחֵ֣תto destroy כלכָּלall-בשרבָּשָׂ֗רflesh אֲשֶׁרthat- בּוֹ֙in it רוחר֣וּחַis the spirit of חיחַיִּ֔יםlife מִתַּ֖חַתfrom under שמיםהַשָּׁמָ֑יִםthe heavens כלכֹּ֥לeverything אֲשֶׁרthat-ארץבָּאָ֖רֶץin the earth גועיִגְוָע :will perish
יח קוםוַהֲקִמֹתִ֥יAnd I will establish אֶת(direct object)-בריתבְּרִיתִ֖יMy covenant אִתָּ֑ךְwith you בואוּבָאתָ֙and you will enter אֶלinto-תבההַתֵּבָ֔הthe ark אַתָּ֕הyou בןוּבָנֶ֛יךָand your sons אשהוְאִשְׁתְּךָ֥and your wife אשהוּנְשֵׁיand the wives of-בןבָנֶ֖יךָyour sons אִתָּךְ :with you
יט כלוּמִכָּלAnd from all-חיהָ֠חַיthe living כלמִכָּלfrom all-בשרבָּשָׂ֞רflesh שניםשְׁנַ֧יִםtwo כלמִכֹּ֛לfrom all בואתָּבִ֥יאyou will bring אֶלinto-תבההַתֵּבָ֖הthe ark חיהלְהַחֲיֹ֣תto keep alive אִתָּ֑ךְwith you זכרזָכָ֥רmale נקבהוּנְקֵבָ֖הand female היהיִהְיוּ :they will be
כ עוףמֵהָע֣וֹףFrom the fowl מיןלְמִינֵ֗הוּto after its kind וּמִןand from-בהמההַבְּהֵמָה֙the beast מיןלְמִינָ֔הּto after its kind כלמִכֹּ֛לfrom all רמשרֶ֥מֶשׂthe creeping thing of אדמההָאֲדָמָ֖הthe ground מיןלְמִינֵ֑הוּto after its kind שניםשְׁנַ֧יִםtwo כלמִכֹּ֛לfrom all בואיָבֹ֥אוּthey will come אֵלֶ֖יךָto you חיהלְהַחֲיוֹת :to keep alive
כא וְאַתָּ֣הAnd you לקחקַחtake- לְךָ֗for yourself כלמִכָּלfrom all-מאכלמַאֲכָל֙food אֲשֶׁ֣רthat אכליֵאָכֵ֔לis eaten אסףוְאָסַפְתָּ֖and you will gather אֵלֶ֑יךָto yourself היהוְהָיָ֥הand it will be לְךָ֛for you וְלָהֶ֖םand for them אכלהלְאָכְלָה :for food
כב עשהוַיַּ֖עַשׂAnd he did נֹ֑חַNoach כלכְּ֠כֹלaccording to all אֲשֶׁ֨רthat צוהצִוָּ֥הHe commanded אֹת֛וֹhim אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem כֵּ֥ןso עשהעָשָׂה :he did
א אמרוַיֹּ֤אמֶרand He said יְהוָה֙Hashem לְנֹ֔חַto Noach בואבֹּאcome- אַתָּ֥הyou כלוְכָלand all-ביתבֵּיתְךָ֖your house אֶלto-תבההַתֵּבָ֑הthe ark כִּיfor- אֹתְךָ֥you ראהרָאִ֛יתִיI have seen צדיקצַדִּ֥יקrighteous פניםלְפָנַ֖יbefore Me דורבַּדּ֥וֹרin the generation הַזֶּה :the this
ב כלמִכֹּ֣לfrom all of בהמההַבְּהֵמָ֣הthe cattle טהורהַטְּהוֹרָ֗הthe clean לקחתִּקַּחyou will take- לְךָ֛to you שבעשִׁבְעָ֥הseven שבעשִׁבְעָ֖הseven אישאִ֣ישׁman אשהוְאִשְׁתּ֑וֹand his wife וּמִןand from-בהמההַבְּהֵמָ֡הthe cattle אֲ֠שֶׁרthat לֹ֣אnot טהורטְהֹרָ֥הclean הִ֛ואshe שניםשְׁנַ֖יִםtwo אישאִ֥ישׁman אשהוְאִשְׁתּוֹ :and his wife
ג גַּ֣םalso עוףמֵע֧וֹףfrom bird of שמיםהַשָּׁמַ֛יִםthe heavens שבעשִׁבְעָ֥הseven שבעשִׁבְעָ֖הseven זכרזָכָ֣רmale נקבהוּנְקֵבָ֑הand female חיהלְחַיּ֥וֹתto keep alive זרעזֶ֖רַעseed עַלon-פניםפְּנֵ֥יface of כלכָלall of-ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
ד כִּי֩for יוםלְיָמִ֨יםto days ע֜וֹדyet שבעשִׁבְעָ֗הseven אָנֹכִי֙I מטרמַמְטִ֣ירcause to rain עַלon-ארץהָאָ֔רֶץthe earth ארבעיםאַרְבָּעִ֣יםforty יוםי֔וֹםday ארבעיםוְאַרְבָּעִ֖יםand forty ליללָ֑יְלָהnight מחהוּמָחִ֗יתִיand I will blot out אֶת(direct object)-כלכָּלall of-יקוםהַיְקוּם֙the existence אֲשֶׁ֣רthat עשהעָשִׂ֔יתִיI have made מֵעַ֖לfrom on פניםפְּנֵ֥יface of אדמההָאֲדָמָה :the ground
ה עשהוַיַּ֖עַשׂand he did נֹ֑חַNoach כלכְּכֹ֥לlike all of אֲשֶׁרthat-צוהצִוָּ֖הוּHe commanded him יְהוָה :Hashem
ו וְנֹ֕חַand Noach בןבֶּןson of-שששֵׁ֥שׁsix מאהמֵא֖וֹתhundreds of שנהשָׁנָ֑הyear מבולוְהַמַּבּ֣וּלand the flood היההָיָ֔הwas מיםמַ֖יִםwater עַלon-ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
ז בואוַיָּ֣בֹאand he came נֹ֗חַNoach בןוּ֠בָנָיוand his sons אשהוְאִשְׁתּ֧וֹand his wife אשהוּנְשֵׁיand wives of-בןבָנָ֛יוhis sons אִתּ֖וֹwith him אֶלto-תבההַתֵּבָ֑הthe ark פניםמִפְּנֵ֖יfrom face of מיםמֵ֥יwaters of מבולהַמַּבּוּל :the flood
ח מִןfrom-בהמההַבְּהֵמָה֙the cattle טהורהַטְּהוֹרָ֔הthe clean וּמִןand from-בהמההַ֨בְּהֵמָ֔הthe cattle אֲשֶׁ֥רthat אֵינֶ֖נָּהis not טהורטְהֹרָ֑הclean וּמִ֨ןand from-עוףהָע֔וֹףthe bird כלוְכֹ֥לand all of אֲשֶׁרthat-רמשרֹמֵ֖שׂcreeps עַלon-אדמההָאֲדָמָה :the ground
ט שניםשְׁנַ֨יִםtwo שניםשְׁנַ֜יִםtwo בואבָּ֧אוּthey came אֶלto- נֹ֛חַNoach אֶלto-תבההַתֵּבָ֖הthe ark זכרזָכָ֣רmale נקבהוּנְקֵבָ֑הand female כַּאֲשֶׁ֛רjust like צוהצִוָּ֥הcommanded אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem אֶת(direct object)- נֹחַ :Noach
י היהוַיְהִ֖יand it was שבעלְשִׁבְעַ֣תto seven of יוםהַיָּמִ֑יםthe days מיםוּמֵ֣יand waters of מבולהַמַּבּ֔וּלthe flood היההָי֖וּthey were עַלon-ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
יא שנהבִּשְׁנַ֨תin year of שששֵׁשׁsix-מאהמֵא֤וֹתhundreds of שנהשָׁנָה֙year חילְחַיֵּיto lives of- נֹ֔חַNoach חדשבַּחֹ֙דֶשׁ֙in the month שניהַשֵּׁנִ֔יthe second שבעבְּשִׁבְעָהin seven-עשרעָשָׂ֥רten יוםי֖וֹםday חדשלַחֹ֑דֶשׁto the month יוםבַּיּ֣וֹםin the day הַזֶּ֗הthe this בקענִבְקְעוּ֙they were broken up כלכָּלall of-מעיןמַעְיְנֹת֙fountains of תהוםתְּה֣וֹםdeep רברַבָּ֔הgreat ארבהוַאֲרֻבֹּ֥תand windows of שמיםהַשָּׁמַ֖יִםthe heavens פתחנִפְתָּחוּ :they were opened
יב היהוַיְהִ֥יand it was גשםהַגֶּ֖שֶׁםthe rain עַלon-ארץהָאָ֑רֶץthe earth ארבעיםאַרְבָּעִ֣יםforty יוםי֔וֹםday ארבעיםוְאַרְבָּעִ֖יםand forty ליללָיְלָה :night
יג עצםבְּעֶ֨צֶםin bone of יוםהַיּ֤וֹםthe day הַזֶּה֙the this בואבָּ֣אcame נֹ֔חַNoach וְשֵׁםand Shem- וְחָ֥םand Ham וָיֶ֖פֶתand Japheth בןבְּנֵיsons of- נֹ֑חַNoach אשהוְאֵ֣שֶׁתand wife of נֹ֗חַNoach שלושוּשְׁלֹ֧שֶׁתand three of אשהנְשֵׁיwives of-בןבָנָ֛יוhis sons אִתָּ֖םwith them אֶלto-תבההַתֵּבָה :the ark
יד הֵ֜מָּהthey כלוְכָלand all of-חיהַחַיָּ֣הthe beast מיןלְמִינָ֗הּto her kind כלוְכָלand all of-בהמההַבְּהֵמָה֙the cattle מיןלְמִינָ֔הּto her kind כלוְכָלand all of-רמשהָרֶ֛מֶשׂthe creeping thing רמשהָרֹמֵ֥שׂthat creeps עַלon-ארץהָאָ֖רֶץthe earth מיןלְמִינֵ֑הוּto his kind כלוְכָלand all of-עוףהָע֣וֹףthe bird מיןלְמִינֵ֔הוּto his kind כלכֹּ֖לall of צפורצִפּ֥וֹרbird כלכָּלall of-כנףכָּנָף :wing
טו בואוַיָּבֹ֥אוּand they came אֶלto- נֹ֖חַNoach אֶלto-תבההַתֵּבָ֑הthe ark שניםשְׁנַ֤יִםtwo שניםשְׁנַ֙יִם֙two כלמִכָּלfrom all of-בשרהַבָּשָׂ֔רthe flesh אֲשֶׁרthat- בּ֖וֹin him רוחר֥וּחַspirit of חיחַיִּים :lives
טז בואוְהַבָּאִ֗יםand the ones coming זכרזָכָ֨רmale נקבהוּנְקֵבָ֤הand female כלמִכָּלfrom all of-בשרבָּשָׂר֙flesh בואבָּ֔אוּthey came כַּאֲשֶׁ֛רjust like צוהצִוָּ֥הcommanded אֹת֖וֹhim אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֑יםHashem סגרוַיִּסְגֹּ֥רand he closed יְהוָ֖הHashem בַּעֲדוֹ :in around him
יז היהוַיְהִ֧יand it was מבולהַמַּבּ֛וּלthe flood ארבעיםאַרְבָּעִ֥יםforty יוםי֖וֹםday עַלon-ארץהָאָ֑רֶץthe earth רבהוַיִּרְבּ֣וּand they increased מיםהַמַּ֗יִםthe waters נשאוַיִּשְׂאוּ֙and they lifted up אֶת(direct object)-תבההַתֵּבָ֔הthe ark רוםוַתָּ֖רָםand she was raised מֵעַ֥לfrom above ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
יח גברוַיִּגְבְּר֥וּand they prevailed מיםהַמַּ֛יִםthe waters רבהוַיִּרְבּ֥וּand they increased מְאֹ֖דvery much עַלon-ארץהָאָ֑רֶץthe earth ילךוַתֵּ֥לֶךְand she went תבההַתֵּבָ֖הthe ark עַלon-פניםפְּנֵ֥יface of מיםהַמָּיִם :the waters
יט מיםוְהַמַּ֗יִםand the waters גברגָּבְר֛וּprevailed מְאֹ֥דvery much מְאֹ֖דvery much עַלon-ארץהָאָ֑רֶץthe earth כסהוַיְכֻסּ֗וּand they were covered כלכָּלall of-הרהֶהָרִים֙the mountains גבההַגְּבֹהִ֔יםthe high אֲשֶׁרthat תַּ֖חַתunder כלכָּלall of-שמיםהַשָּׁמָיִם :the heavens
כ חמשחֲמֵ֨שׁfive עשרעֶשְׂרֵ֤הteen אמהאַמָּה֙cubit מִלְמַ֔עְלָהfrom to upward גברגָּבְר֖וּprevailed מיםהַמָּ֑יִםthe waters כסהוַיְכֻסּ֖וּand they were covered הרהֶהָרִים :the mountains
כא גועוַיִּגְוַ֞עand he perished כלכָּלall of-בשרבָּשָׂ֣רflesh רמשהָרֹמֵ֣שׂthat creeps עַלon-ארץהָאָ֗רֶץthe earth עוףבָּע֤וֹףin the bird בהמהוּבַבְּהֵמָה֙and in the cattle חיוּבַ֣חַיָּ֔הand in the beast כלוּבְכָלand in all of-שרץהַשֶּׁ֖רֶץthe swarming thing שרץהַשֹּׁרֵ֣ץthat swarms עַלon-ארץהָאָ֑רֶץthe earth כלוְכֹ֖לand all of אדםהָאָדָם :the man
כב כלכֹּ֡לall of אֲשֶׁר֩that נשמהנִשְׁמַתbreath of-רוחר֨וּחַspirit of חיחַיִּ֜יםlives אףבְּאַפָּ֗יוin his nostrils כלמִכֹּ֛לfrom all of אֲשֶׁ֥רthat חרבהבֶּחָרָבָ֖הin the dry land מותמֵתוּ :they died
כג מחהוַיִּ֜מַחand he blotted out אֶת(direct object)-כלכָּלall of-יקוםהַיְק֣וּםthe existence אֲשֶׁ֣רthat עַלon-פניםפְּנֵ֣יface of אדמההָאֲדָמָ֗הthe ground אדםמֵאָדָ֤םfrom man עַדto-בהמהבְּהֵמָה֙cattle עַדto-רמשרֶ֙מֶשׂ֙creeping thing וְעַדand to-עוףע֣וֹףbird of שמיםהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםthe heavens מחהוַיִּמָּח֖וּand they were blotted out מִןfrom-ארץהָאָ֑רֶץthe earth שארוַיִּשָּׁ֧אֶרand he was left אַךְonly- נֹ֛חַNoach וַאֲשֶׁ֥רand that אִתּ֖וֹwith him תבהבַּתֵּבָה :in the ark
כד גברוַיִּגְבְּר֥וּand they prevailed מיםהַמַּ֖יִםthe waters עַלon-ארץהָאָ֑רֶץthe earth חמשיםחֲמִשִּׁ֥יםfifty מאהוּמְאַ֖תand hundred of יוםיוֹם :day
א זכרוַיִּזְכֹּ֤רand He remembered אלהיםאֱלֹהִים֙Hashem אֶת(direct object)- נֹ֔חַNoach וְאֵ֤תand (direct object) כלכָּלall of-חיהַחַיָּה֙the beast וְאֶתand (direct object)-כלכָּלall of-בהמההַבְּהֵמָ֔הthe cattle אֲשֶׁ֥רthat אִתּ֖וֹwith him תבהבַּתֵּבָ֑הin the ark עברוַיַּעֲבֵ֨רand He caused to pass אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֥יםHashem רוחר֙וּחַ֙a wind עַלon-ארץהָאָ֔רֶץthe earth שכךוַיָּשֹׁ֖כּוּand they subsided מיםהַמָּיִם :the waters
ב סכרוַיִּסָּכְרוּ֙and they were stopped מעיןמַעְיְנֹ֣תfountains of תהוםתְּה֔וֹםdeep ארבהוַאֲרֻבֹּ֖תand windows of שמיםהַשָּׁמָ֑יִםthe heavens כלאוַיִּכָּלֵ֥אand it was restrained גשםהַגֶּ֖שֶׁםthe rain מִןfrom-שמיםהַשָּׁמָיִם :the heavens
ג שובוַיָּשֻׁ֧בוּand they returned מיםהַמַּ֛יִםthe waters מֵעַ֥לfrom on ארץהָאָ֖רֶץthe earth הלךהָל֣וֹךְgoing שובוָשׁ֑וֹבand returning חסרוַיַּחְסְר֣וּand they decreased מיםהַמַּ֔יִםthe waters קצהמִקְצֵ֕הfrom end of חמשיםחֲמִשִּׁ֥יםfifty מאהוּמְאַ֖תand hundred of יוםיוֹם :day
ד נוחוַתָּ֤נַחand she rested תבההַתֵּבָה֙the ark חדשבַּחֹ֣דֶשׁin the month שביעיהַשְּׁבִיעִ֔יthe seventh שבעבְּשִׁבְעָהin seven-עשרעָשָׂ֥רten יוםי֖וֹםday חדשלַחֹ֑דֶשׁto the month עַ֖לon הרהָרֵ֥יmountains of אֲרָרָט :Ararat
ה מיםוְהַמַּ֗יִםand the waters היההָיוּ֙were הלךהָל֣וֹךְgoing חסרוְחָס֔וֹרand decreasing עַ֖דuntil חדשהַחֹ֣דֶשׁthe month עשיריהָעֲשִׂירִ֑יthe tenth עשיריבָּעֲשִׂירִי֙in the tenth אחדבְּאֶחָ֣דin one חדשלַחֹ֔דֶשׁto the month ראהנִרְא֖וּthey were seen ראשרָאשֵׁ֥יtops of הרהֶהָרִים :the mountains

ז שלחוַיְשַׁלַּ֖חand he sent forth אֶת(direct object)-ערבהָעֹרֵ֑בthe raven יצאוַיֵּצֵ֤אand he went out יצאיָצוֹא֙going out שובוָשׁ֔וֹבand returning עַדuntil-יבשיְבֹ֥שֶׁתdrying up of מיםהַמַּ֖יִםthe waters מֵעַ֥לfrom on ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
ח שלחוַיְשַׁלַּ֥חand he sent forth אֶת(direct object)-יונההַיּוֹנָ֖הthe dove מֵאִתּ֑וֹfrom with him ראהלִרְאוֹת֙to see קללהֲקַ֣לּוּif they were lightened מיםהַמַּ֔יִםthe waters מֵעַ֖לfrom on פניםפְּנֵ֥יface of אדמההָאֲדָמָה :the ground
ט וְלֹאand not-מצאמָצְאָה֩she found יונההַיּוֹנָ֨הthe dove מנוחמָנ֜וֹחַresting place כףלְכַףto sole of-רגלרַגְלָ֗הּher foot שובוַתָּ֤שָׁבand she returned אֵלָיו֙to him אֶלto-תבההַתֵּבָ֔הthe ark כִּיfor-מיםמַ֖יִםwaters עַלon-פניםפְּנֵ֣יface of כלכָלall of-ארץהָאָ֑רֶץthe earth שלחוַיִּשְׁלַ֤חand he put forth ידיָדוֹ֙his hand לקחוַיִּקָּחֶ֔הָand he took her בואוַיָּבֵ֥אand he brought אֹתָ֛הּher אֵלָ֖יוto him אֶלto-תבההַתֵּבָה :the ark
י חולוַיָּ֣חֶלand he waited ע֔וֹדyet שבעשִׁבְעַ֥תseven of יוםיָמִ֖יםdays אחראֲחֵרִ֑יםother יסףוַיֹּ֛סֶףand he added שלחשַׁלַּ֥חto send forth אֶת(direct object)-יונההַיּוֹנָ֖הthe dove מִןfrom-תבההַתֵּבָה :the ark
יא בואוַתָּבֹ֨אand she came אֵלָ֤יוto him יונההַיּוֹנָה֙the dove עתלְעֵ֣תto time of ערבעֶ֔רֶבevening וְהִנֵּ֥הand behold עלהעֲלֵהleaf of-זיתזַ֖יִתolive טרףטָרָ֣ףplucked פהבְּפִ֑יהָin her mouth ידעוַיֵּ֣דַעand he knew נֹ֔חַNoach כִּיthat-קללקַ֥לּוּwere lightened מיםהַמַּ֖יִםthe waters מֵעַ֥לfrom on ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
יב יחלוַיִּי֣חֶלand he waited ע֔וֹדyet שבעשִׁבְעַ֥תseven of יוםיָמִ֖יםdays אחראֲחֵרִ֑יםother שלחוַיְשַׁלַּח֙and he sent forth אֶת(direct object)-יונההַיּוֹנָ֔הthe dove וְלֹאand not-יסףיָסְפָ֥הshe added שובשׁוּבto return אֵלָ֖יוto him עוֹד :anymore
יג היהוַ֠יְהִיAnd it was אחדבְּאַחַ֨תin one ששוְשֵׁשׁand six-מאהמֵא֜וֹתhundreds of שנהשָׁנָ֗הyear ראשוןבָּרִאשׁוֹן֙in the first אחדבְּאֶחָ֣דin one חדשלַחֹ֔דֶשׁto the month חרבחָרְב֥וּthey dried up מיםהַמַּ֖יִםthe waters מֵעַ֣לfrom on ארץהָאָ֑רֶץthe earth סורוַיָּ֤סַרand he removed נֹ֙חַ֙Noach אֶת(direct object)-מכסהמִכְסֵ֣הcovering of תבההַתֵּבָ֔הthe ark ראהוַיַּ֕רְאand he saw וְהִנֵּ֥הand behold חרבחָרְב֖וּthey dried up פניםפְּנֵ֥יface of אדמההָאֲדָמָה :the ground
יד חדשוּבַחֹ֙דֶשׁ֙and in the month שניהַשֵּׁנִ֔יthe second שבעבְּשִׁבְעָ֧הin seven עשריםוְעֶשְׂרִ֛יםand twenty יוםי֖וֹםday חדשלַחֹ֑דֶשׁto the month יבשיָבְשָׁ֖הshe dried ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
טו דברוַיְדַבֵּ֥רand He spoke אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem אֶלto- נֹ֥חַNoach אמרלֵאמֹר :saying
טז יצאצֵ֖אgo out מִןfrom-תבההַתֵּבָ֑הthe ark אַתָּ֕הyou אשהוְאִשְׁתְּךָ֛and your wife בןוּבָנֶ֥יךָand your sons אשהוּנְשֵׁיand wives of-בןבָנֶ֖יךָyour sons אִתָּךְ :with you
יז כלכָּלall of-חיהַחַיָּ֨הthe beast אֲשֶׁרthat- אִתְּךָ֜with you כלמִכָּלfrom all of-בשרבָּשָׂ֗רflesh עוףבָּע֧וֹףin the bird בהמהוּבַבְּהֵמָ֛הand in the cattle כלוּבְכָלand in all of-רמשהָרֶ֛מֶשׂthe creeping thing רמשהָרֹמֵ֥שׂthat creeps עַלon-ארץהָאָ֖רֶץthe earth יצאהַיְצֵ֣אbring out אִתָּ֑ךְwith you שרץוְשָׁרְצ֣וּand they will swarm ארץבָאָ֔רֶץin the earth פרהוּפָר֥וּand they will bear fruit רבהוְרָב֖וּand they will multiply עַלon-ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
יח יצאוַיֵּ֖צֵאand he went out- נֹ֑חַNoach בןוּבָנָ֛יוand his sons אשהוְאִשְׁתּ֥וֹand his wife אשהוּנְשֵׁיand wives of-בןבָנָ֖יוhis sons אִתּוֹ :with him
יט כלכָּלall of-חיהַחַיָּ֗הthe beast כלכָּלall of-רמשהָרֶ֙מֶשׂ֙the creeping thing כלוְכָלand all of-עוףהָע֔וֹףthe bird כלכֹּ֖לall of רמשרוֹמֵ֣שׂcreeps עַלon-ארץהָאָ֑רֶץthe earth משפחהלְמִשְׁפְּחֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔םto their families יצאיָצְא֖וּthey went out מִןfrom-תבההַתֵּבָה :the ark
כ בנהוַיִּ֥בֶןand he built נֹ֛חַNoach מזבחמִזְבֵּ֖חַan altar לַיהוָ֑הto Hashem לקחוַיִּקַּ֞חand he took כלמִכֹּ֣לfrom all of בהמההַבְּהֵמָ֣הthe cattle טהורהַטְּהֹרָ֗הthe clean כלוּמִכֹּל֙and from all of עוףהָע֣וֹףthe bird טהורהַטָּהֹ֔רthe clean עלהוַיַּ֥עַלand he offered עלהעֹלֹ֖תburnt offerings מזבחבַּמִּזְבֵּחַ :in the altar
כא רוחוַיָּ֣רַחand He smelled יְהוָה֮Hashem אֶת(direct object)-ריחרֵ֣יחַsmell of ניחוחהַנִּיחֹחַ֒the pleasing אמרוַיֹּ֨אמֶרand He said יְהוָ֜הHashem אֶלto-לבלִבּ֗וֹHis heart לֹאnot-יסףאֹ֠סִףI will add קלללְקַלֵּ֨לto curse ע֤וֹדanymore אֶת(direct object)-אדמההָאֲדָמָה֙the ground עבורבַּעֲב֣וּרin for the sake of אדםהָאָדָ֔םthe man כִּ֠יfor יצריֵ֣צֶרinclination of לבלֵ֧בheart of אדםהָאָדָ֛םthe man רערַ֖עevil נעורמִנְּעֻרָ֑יוfrom his youth וְלֹאand not-יסףאֹסִ֥ףI will add ע֛וֹדanymore נכהלְהַכּ֥וֹתto strike אֶת(direct object)-כלכָּלall of-חיחַ֖יliving כַּאֲשֶׁ֥רjust like עשהעָשִׂיתִי :I have done
כב עֹ֖דyet כלכָּלall of-יוםיְמֵ֣יdays of ארץהָאָ֑רֶץthe earth זרעזֶ֡רַעseed קצירוְ֠קָצִירand harvest קרוְקֹ֨רand cold חםוָחֹ֜םand heat קיץוְקַ֧יִץand summer חרףוָחֹ֛רֶףand winter יוםוְי֥וֹםand day לילוָלַ֖יְלָהand night לֹ֥אnot שבתיִשְׁבֹּתוּ :they will cease
א ברךוַיְבָ֣רֶךְand He blessed אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֔יםHashem אֶת(direct object)- נֹ֖חַNoach וְאֶתand (direct object)-בןבָּנָ֑יוhis sons אמרוַיֹּ֧אמֶרand He said לָהֶ֛םto them פרהפְּר֥וּbe fruitful רבהוּרְב֖וּand multiply מלאוּמִלְא֥וּand fill אֶת(direct object)-ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
ב מוראוּמוֹרַאֲכֶ֤םand your fear חתוְחִתְּכֶם֙and your dread היהיִהְיֶ֔הwill be עַ֚לon כלכָּלall of-חיחַיַּ֣תbeast of ארץהָאָ֔רֶץthe earth וְעַ֖לand on כלכָּלall of-עוףע֣וֹףbird of שמיםהַשָּׁמָ֑יִםthe heavens כלבְּכֹל֩in all of אֲשֶׁ֨רthat רמשתִּרְמֹ֧שׂshe will creep אדמההָאֲדָמָ֛הthe ground כלוּבְכָלand in all of-דגדְּגֵ֥יfishes of יםהַיָּ֖םthe sea ידבְּיֶדְכֶ֥םin your hand נתןנִתָּנוּ :they are given
ג כלכָּלall of-רמשרֶ֙מֶשׂ֙creeping thing אֲשֶׁ֣רthat הוּאhe is-חיחַ֔יliving לָכֶ֥םto you היהיִהְיֶ֖הhe will be אכלהלְאָכְלָ֑הto food ירקכְּיֶ֣רֶקlike green of עשבעֵ֔שֶׂבherb נתןנָתַ֥תִּיI have given לָכֶ֖םto you אֶת(direct object)-כלכֹּל :all of
ד אַךְonly-בשרבָּשָׂ֕רflesh נפשבְּנַפְשׁ֥וֹin its soul דםדָמ֖וֹits blood לֹ֥אnot אכלתֹאכֵלוּ :you will eat
ה וְאַ֨ךְand only אֶת(direct object)-דםדִּמְכֶ֤םyour blood נפשלְנַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶם֙to your souls דרשאֶדְרֹ֔שׁI will require ידמִיַּ֥דfrom hand of כלכָּלall of-חיחַיָּ֖הbeast דרשאֶדְרְשֶׁ֑נּוּI will require it ידוּמִיַּ֣דand from hand of אדםהָאָדָ֗םthe man ידמִיַּד֙from hand of אישאִ֣ישׁman אחאָחִ֔יוhis brother דרשאֶדְרֹ֖שׁI will require אֶת(direct object)-נפשנֶ֥פֶשׁsoul of אדםהָאָדָם :the man
ו שפךשֹׁפֵךְ֙whoever sheds דםדַּ֣םblood of אדםהָאָדָ֔םthe man אדםבָּאָדָ֖םin the man דםדָּמ֣וֹhis blood שפךיִשָּׁפֵ֑ךְwill be shed כִּ֚יfor צלםבְּצֶ֣לֶםin image of אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֔יםHashem עשהעָשָׂ֖הHe made אֶת(direct object)-אדםהָאָדָם :the man
ז וְאַתֶּ֖םand you פרהפְּר֣וּbe fruitful רבהוּרְב֑וּand multiply שרץשִׁרְצ֥וּswarm ארץבָאָ֖רֶץin the earth רבהוּרְבוּand multiply- בָהּ :in her
ח אמרוַיֹּ֤אמֶרand He said אלהיםאֱלֹהִים֙Hashem אֶלto- נֹ֔חַNoach וְאֶלand to-בןבָּנָ֥יוhis sons אִתּ֖וֹwith him אמרלֵאמֹר :saying
ט וַאֲנִ֕יand I הִנְנִ֥יbehold I קוםמֵקִ֛יםestablish אֶת(direct object)-בריתבְּרִיתִ֖יMy covenant אִתְּכֶ֑םwith you וְאֶתand (direct object)-זרעזַרְעֲכֶ֖םyour seed אַחֲרֵיכֶם :after you
י וְאֵ֨תand (direct object) כלכָּלall of-נפשנֶ֤פֶשׁsoul of חיהַחַיָּה֙the living אֲשֶׁ֣רthat אִתְּכֶ֔םwith you עוףבָּע֧וֹףin the bird בהמהבַּבְּהֵמָ֛הin the cattle כלוּבְכָלand in all of-חיחַיַּ֥תbeast of ארץהָאָ֖רֶץthe earth אִתְּכֶ֑םwith you כלמִכֹּל֙from all of יצאיֹצְאֵ֣יones going out of תבההַתֵּבָ֔הthe ark כללְכֹ֖לto all of חיחַיַּ֥תbeast of ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
יא קוםוַהֲקִמֹתִ֤יand I will establish אֶת(direct object)-בריתבְּרִיתִי֙My covenant אִתְּכֶ֔םwith you וְלֹאand not-כרתיִכָּרֵ֧תwill be cut off כלכָּלall of-בשרבָּשָׂ֛רflesh ע֖וֹדanymore מיםמִמֵּ֣יfrom waters of מבולהַמַּבּ֑וּלthe flood וְלֹאand not-היהיִהְיֶ֥הthere will be ע֛וֹדanymore מבולמַבּ֖וּלa flood שחתלְשַׁחֵ֥תto destroy ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
יב אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרand He said אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֗יםHashem זֹ֤אתthis אותאוֹתsign of-בריתהַבְּרִית֙the covenant אֲשֶׁרthat- אֲנִ֣יI נתןנֹתֵ֗ןgive בֵּינִי֙between Me וּבֵ֣ינֵיכֶ֔םand between you וּבֵ֛יןand between כלכָּלall of-נפשנֶ֥פֶשׁsoul of חיחַיָּ֖הliving אֲשֶׁ֣רthat אִתְּכֶ֑םwith you דורלְדֹרֹ֖תto generations of עולםעוֹלָם :eternity
יג אֶת(direct object)-קשתקַשְׁתִּ֕יMy bow נתןנָתַ֖תִּיI have given ענןבֶּעָנָ֑ןin the cloud היהוְהָיְתָה֙and she will be אותלְא֣וֹתto a sign of בריתבְּרִ֔יתcovenant בֵּינִ֖יbetween Me וּבֵ֥יןand between ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
יד היהוְהָיָ֕הand it will be ענןבְּעַנְנִ֥יin My bringing a cloud ענןעָנָ֖ןa cloud עַלon-ארץהָאָ֑רֶץthe earth ראהוְנִרְאֲתָ֥הand she will be seen קשתהַקֶּ֖שֶׁתthe bow ענןבֶּעָנָן :in the cloud
טו זכרוְזָכַרְתִּ֣יand I will remember אֶת(direct object)-בריתבְּרִיתִ֗יMy covenant אֲשֶׁ֤רthat בֵּינִי֙between Me וּבֵ֣ינֵיכֶ֔םand between you וּבֵ֛יןand between כלכָּלall of-נפשנֶ֥פֶשׁsoul of חיחַיָּ֖הliving כלבְּכָלin all of-בשרבָּשָׂ֑רflesh וְלֹאand not-היהיִהְיֶ֨הwill be ע֤וֹדanymore מיםהַמַּ֙יִם֙the waters מבוללְמַבּ֔וּלto a flood שחתלְשַׁחֵ֖תto destroy כלכָּלall of-בשרבָּשָׂר :flesh
טז היהוְהָיְתָ֥הand she will be קשתהַקֶּ֖שֶׁתthe bow ענןבֶּעָנָ֑ןin the cloud ראהוּרְאִיתִ֗יהָand I will see her זכרלִזְכֹּר֙to remember בריתבְּרִ֣יתcovenant of עולםעוֹלָ֔םeternity בֵּ֣יןbetween אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֔יםHashem וּבֵין֙and between כלכָּלall of-נפשנֶ֣פֶשׁsoul of חיחַיָּ֔הliving כלבְּכָלin all of-בשרבָּשָׂ֖רflesh אֲשֶׁ֥רthat עַלon-ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
יז אמרוַיֹּ֥אמֶרand He said אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem אֶלto- נֹ֑חַNoach זֹ֤אתthis אותאוֹתsign of-בריתהַבְּרִית֙the covenant אֲשֶׁ֣רthat קוםהֲקִמֹ֔תִיI have established בֵּינִ֕יbetween Me וּבֵ֥יןand between כלכָּלall of-בשרבָּשָׂ֖רflesh אֲשֶׁ֥רthat עַלon-ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
יח היהוַיִּהְי֣וּand they were בןבְנֵיsons of- נֹ֗חַNoach יצאהַיֹּצְאִים֙the ones going out מִןfrom-תבההַתֵּבָ֔הthe ark שֵׁ֖םShem וְחָ֣םand Ham וָיָ֑פֶתand Japheth וְחָ֕םand Ham ה֖וּאhe אבאֲבִ֥יfather of כְנָעַן :Canaan
יט שלוששְׁלֹשָׁ֥הthree of אֵ֖לֶּהthese בןבְּנֵיsons of- נֹ֑חַNoach וּמֵאֵ֖לֶּהand from these נפץנָפְצָ֥הshe scattered כלכָלall of-ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth
כ חללוַיָּ֥חֶלand he began נֹ֖חַNoach אישאִ֣ישׁman of אדמההָאֲדָמָ֑הthe ground נטעוַיִּטַּ֖עand he planted כרםכָּרֶם :a vineyard
כא שתהוַיֵּ֥שְׁתְּand he drank מִןfrom-ייןהַיַּ֖יִןthe wine שכרוַיִּשְׁכָּ֑רand he became drunk גלהוַיִּתְגַּ֖לand he uncovered himself תוךבְּת֥וֹךְin midst of אהלאָהֳלֹה :his tent
כב ראהוַיַּ֗רְאand he saw חָ֚םHam אבאֲבִ֣יfather of כְנַ֔עַןCanaan אֵ֖ת(direct object) ערוהעֶרְוַ֣תnakedness of אבאָבִ֑יוhis father נגדוַיַּגֵּ֥דand he told שניםלִשְׁנֵיto two of-אחאֶחָ֖יוhis brothers חוץבַּחוּץ :in the outside
כג לקחוַיִּקַּח֩and he took שֵׁ֨םShem וָיֶ֜פֶתand Japheth אֶת(direct object)-שמלההַשִּׂמְלָ֗הthe garment שוםוַיָּשִׂ֙ימוּ֙and they put עַלon-שכםשְׁכֶ֣םshoulder of שניםשְׁנֵיהֶ֔םboth of them ילךוַיֵּלְכוּ֙and they went אֲחֹ֣רַנִּ֔יתbackward כסהוַיְכַסּ֕וּand they covered אֵ֖ת(direct object) ערוהעֶרְוַ֣תnakedness of אבאֲבִיהֶ֑םtheir father פניםוּפְנֵיהֶם֙and their faces אֲחֹ֣רַנִּ֔יתbackward ערוהוְעֶרְוַ֥תand nakedness of אבאֲבִיהֶ֖םtheir father לֹ֥אnot ראהרָאוּ :they saw
כד יקץוַיִּ֥יקֶץand he awoke נֹ֖חַNoach ייןמִיֵּינ֑וֹfrom his wine ידעוַיֵּ֕דַעand he knew אֵ֛ת(direct object) אֲשֶׁרthat-עשהעָ֥שָׂהhe did- ל֖וֹto him בןבְּנ֥וֹhis son קטןהַקָּטָן :the little
כה אמרוַיֹּ֖אמֶרand he said ארראָר֣וּרcursed כְּנָ֑עַןCanaan עבדעֶ֥בֶדservant of עבדעֲבָדִ֖יםservants היהיִהְיֶ֥הhe will be אחלְאֶחָיו :to his brothers
כו אמרוַיֹּ֕אמֶרand he said ברךבָּר֥וּךְblessed יְהוָ֖הHashem אלהיםאֱלֹ֣הֵיGod of שֵׁ֑םShem היהוִיהִ֥יand will be כְנַ֖עַןCanaan עבדעֶ֥בֶדservant לָמוֹ :to them
כז פתהיַ֤פְתְּmay He enlarge אלהיםאֱלֹהִים֙Hashem לְיֶ֔פֶתto Japheth שכןוְיִשְׁכֹּ֖ןand he will dwell אהלבְּאָהֳלֵיin tents of- שֵׁ֑םShem היהוִיהִ֥יand will be כְנַ֖עַןCanaan עבדעֶ֥בֶדservant לָמוֹ :to them
כח חיהוַיְחִיand he lived- נֹ֖חַNoach אַחַ֣רafter מבולהַמַּבּ֑וּלthe flood שלוששְׁלֹ֤שׁthree of מאהמֵאוֹת֙hundreds of שנהשָׁנָ֔הyear חמשיםוַחֲמִשִּׁ֖יםand fifty שנהשָׁנָה :year
כט היהוַיִּהְיוּ֙and they were כלכָּלall of-יוםיְמֵיdays of- נֹ֔חַNoach תשעתְּשַׁ֤עnine of מאהמֵאוֹת֙hundreds of שנהשָׁנָ֔הyear חמשיםוַחֲמִשִּׁ֖יםand fifty שנהשָׁנָ֑הyear מותוַיָּמֹת :and he died
א וְאֵ֙לֶּה֙and these תולדהתּוֹלְדֹ֣תgenerations of בןבְּנֵיsons of- נֹ֔חַNoach שֵׁ֖םShem חָ֣םHam וָיָ֑פֶתand Japheth ילדוַיִּוָּלְד֥וּand they were born לָהֶ֛םto them בןבָּנִ֖יםsons אַחַ֥רafter מבולהַמַּבּוּל :the flood
ב בןבְּנֵ֣יsons of יֶ֔פֶתJapheth גֹּ֣מֶרGomer וּמָג֔וֹגand Magog וּמָדַ֖יand Madai וְיָוָ֣ןand Javan וְתֻבָ֑לand Tubal וּמֶ֖שֶׁךְand Meshech וְתִירָס :and Tiras
ג בןוּבְנֵ֖יand sons of גֹּ֑מֶרGomer אַשְׁכְּנַ֥זAshkenaz וְרִיפַ֖תand Riphath וְתֹגַרְמָה :and Togarmah
ד בןוּבְנֵ֥יand sons of יָוָ֖ןJavan אֱלִישָׁ֣הElishah וְתַרְשִׁ֑ישׁand Tarshish כִּתִּ֖יםKittim וְדֹדָנִים :and Dodanim
ה מֵ֠אֵלֶּהfrom these פרדנִפְרְד֞וּthey were separated איאִיֵּ֤יisles of גויהַגּוֹיִם֙the nations ארץבְּאַרְצֹתָ֔םin their lands אישאִ֖ישׁman לשוןלִלְשֹׁנ֑וֹto his tongue משפחהלְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֖םto their families גויבְּגוֹיֵיהֶם :in their nations
ו בןוּבְנֵ֖יand sons of חָ֑םHam כּ֥וּשׁCush וּמִצְרַ֖יִםand Mizraim וּפ֥וּטand Phut וּכְנָעַן :and Canaan

א היהוַיְהִ֥יand it was כלכָלall of-ארץהָאָ֖רֶץthe earth שפהשָׂפָ֣הlanguage אחדאֶחָ֑תone דברוּדְבָרִ֖יםand words אחדאֲחָדִים :one
ב היהוַיְהִ֖יand it was נסעבְּנָסְעָ֣םin their journeying קדםמִקֶּ֑דֶםfrom east מצאוַיִּמְצְא֥וּand they found בקעהבִקְעָ֛הa valley ארץבְּאֶ֥רֶץin land of שִׁנְעָ֖רShinar ישבוַיֵּ֥שְׁבוּand they dwelt שָׁם :there
ג אמרוַיֹּאמְר֞וּand they said אישאִ֣ישׁman אֶלto-רערֵעֵ֗הוּhis neighbor יהבהָ֚בָהcome לבןנִלְבְּנָ֣הlet us make bricks לבנהלְבֵנִ֔יםbricks שרףוְנִשְׂרְפָ֖הand let us burn שרפהלִשְׂרֵפָ֑הto a burning היהוַתְּהִ֨יand she was לָהֶ֤םto them לבנההַלְּבֵנָה֙the brick אבןלְאָ֔בֶןto stone חמרוְהַ֣חֵמָ֔רand the clay היההָיָ֥הwas לָהֶ֖םto them חמרלַחֹמֶר :to mortar

ה ירדוַיֵּ֣רֶדand He came down יְהוָ֔הHashem ראהלִרְאֹ֥תto see אֶת(direct object)-עירהָעִ֖ירthe city וְאֶתand (direct object)-מגדלהַמִּגְדָּ֑לthe tower אֲשֶׁ֥רthat בנהבָּנ֖וּthey built בןבְּנֵ֥יsons of אדםהָאָדָם :the man
ו אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרand He said יְהוָ֗הHashem הֵ֣ןbehold עםעַ֤םpeople אחדאֶחָד֙one שפהוְשָׂפָ֤הand language אחדאַחַת֙one כללְכֻלָּ֔םto all of them וְזֶ֖הand this חללהַחִלָּ֣םtheir beginning עשהלַעֲשׂ֑וֹתto do וְעַתָּה֙and now לֹאnot-בצריִבָּצֵ֣רit will be withheld מֵהֶ֔םfrom them כלכֹּ֛לall of אֲשֶׁ֥רthat זמםיָזְמ֖וּthey purposed עשהלַעֲשׂוֹת :to do
ז יהבהָ֚בָהcome ירדנֵרְדָ֔הlet Us go down בללוְנָבְלָ֥הand let Us confound שָׁ֖םthere שפהשְׂפָתָ֑םtheir language אֲשֶׁר֙that לֹ֣אnot שמעיִשְׁמְע֔וּthey will understand אישאִ֖ישׁman שפהשְׂפַ֥תlanguage of רערֵעֵהוּ :his neighbor
ח פוץוַיָּ֨פֶץand He scattered יְהוָ֥הHashem אֹתָ֛םthem מִשָּׁ֖םfrom there עַלon-פניםפְּנֵ֣יface of כלכָלall of-ארץהָאָ֑רֶץthe earth חדלוַיַּחְדְּל֖וּand they ceased בנהלִבְנֹ֥תto build עירהָעִיר :the city
ט עַלon- כֵּ֞ןso קראקָרָ֤אhe called שםשְׁמָהּ֙her name בָּבֶ֔לBabel כִּיfor- שָׁ֛םthere בללבָּלַ֥לHe confounded יְהוָ֖הHashem שפהשְׂפַ֣תlanguage of כלכָּלall of-ארץהָאָ֑רֶץthe earth וּמִשָּׁם֙and from there פוץהֱפִיצָ֣םHe scattered them יְהוָ֔הHashem עַלon-פניםפְּנֵ֖יface of כלכָּלall of-ארץהָאָרֶץ :the earth

ד ילךוַיֵּ֣לֶךְand he went אַבְרָ֗םAvram כַּאֲשֶׁ֨רjust like דברדִּבֶּ֤רHe spoke אֵלָיו֙to him יְהוָ֔הHashem ילךוַיֵּ֥לֶךְand he went אִתּ֖וֹwith him ל֑וֹטLot וְאַבְרָ֗םand Avram בןבֶּןson of-חמשחָמֵ֤שׁfive שנהשָׁנִים֙years שבעיםוְשִׁבְעִ֣יםand seventy שנהשָׁנָ֔הyear יצאבְּצֵאת֖וֹin his going out מֵחָרָן :from Haran
ה לקחוַיִּקַּ֣חand he took אַבְרָם֩Avram אֶת(direct object)- שָׂרַ֨יSarai אשהאִשְׁתּ֜וֹhis wife וְאֶתand (direct object)- ל֣וֹטLot בןבֶּןson of-אחאָחִ֗יוhis brother וְאֶתand (direct object)-כלכָּלall of-רכושרְכוּשָׁם֙their substance אֲשֶׁ֣רthat רכשרָכָ֔שׁוּthey had gathered וְאֶתand (direct object)-נפשהַנֶּ֖פֶשׁthe soul אֲשֶׁרthat-עשהעָשׂ֣וּthey made בְחָרָ֑ןin Haran יצאוַיֵּצְא֗וּand they went out ילךלָלֶ֙כֶת֙to go ארץאַ֣רְצָהto land of כְּנַ֔עַןCanaan בואוַיָּבֹ֖אוּand they came ארץאַ֥רְצָהto land of כְּנָעַן :Canaan
ו עברוַיַּעֲבֹ֤רand he passed אַבְרָם֙Avram ארץבָּאָ֔רֶץin the land עַ֚דto מקוםמְק֣וֹםplace of שְׁכֶ֔םShechem עַ֖דto אלוןאֵל֣וֹןplain of מוֹרֶ֑הMoreh וְהַכְּנַעֲנִ֖יand the Canaanite אָ֥זthen ארץבָּאָרֶץ :in the land
ז ראהוַיֵּרָ֤אand He appeared יְהוָה֙Hashem אֶלto- אַבְרָ֔םAvram אמרוַיֹּ֕אמֶרand He said זרעלְזַ֨רְעֲךָ֔to your seed נתןאֶתֵּ֖ןI will give אֶת(direct object)-ארץהָאָ֣רֶץthe land הַזֹּ֑אתthe this בנהוַיִּ֤בֶןand he built שָׁם֙there מזבחמִזְבֵּ֔חַan altar לַיהוָ֖הto Hashem ראההַנִּרְאֶ֥הthe One appearing אֵלָיו :to him
ח עתקוַיַּעְתֵּ֨קand he moved מִשָּׁ֜םfrom there הרהָהָ֗רָהto the mountain קדםמִקֶּ֛דֶםfrom east לְבֵיתto Bethel- אֵ֖לBeth-El, a place... נטהוַיֵּ֣טand he pitched אהלאָהֳלֹ֑הhis tent בֵּיתBethel- אֵ֤לBeth-El, a place... יםמִיָּם֙from west וְהָעַ֣יand the Hai קדםמִקֶּ֔דֶםfrom east בנהוַיִּבֶןand he built- שָׁ֤םthere מזבחמִזְבֵּ֙חַ֙an altar לַיהוָ֔הto Hashem קראוַיִּקְרָ֖אand he called שםבְּשֵׁ֥םin name of יְהוָה :Hashem
ט נסעוַיִּסַּ֣עand he journeyed אַבְרָ֔םAvram הלךהָל֥וֹךְgoing נסעוְנָס֖וֹעַand journeying נגבהַנֶּגְבָּה :to the south
י היהוַיְהִ֥יAnd it was רעברָעָ֖בa famine ארץבָּאָ֑רֶץin the land ירדוַיֵּ֨רֶדand he went down אַבְרָ֤םAvram מִצְרַ֙יְמָה֙to Egypt גורלָג֣וּרto sojourn שָׁ֔םthere כִּיfor-כבדכָבֵ֥דheavy רעבהָרָעָ֖בthe famine ארץבָּאָרֶץ :in the land
יא היהוַיְהִ֕יAnd it was כַּאֲשֶׁ֥רjust like קרבהִקְרִ֖יבhe came near בואלָב֣וֹאcome מִצְרָ֑יְמָהto Egypt אמרוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙and he said אֶלto- שָׂרַ֣יSarai אשהאִשְׁתּ֔וֹhis wife הִנֵּהbehold- נָ֣אnow ידעיָדַ֔עְתִּיI know כִּ֛יthat אשהאִשָּׁ֥הa woman יפהיְפַתfair of-מראהמַרְאֶ֖הappearance אָתְּ :you
יב היהוְהָיָ֗הand it will be כִּיthat-ראהיִרְא֤וּthey will see אֹתָךְ֙you הַמִּצְרִ֔יםthe Egyptians אמרוְאָמְר֖וּand they will say אשהאִשְׁתּ֣וֹhis wife זֹ֑אתthis הרגוְהָרְג֥וּand they will kill אֹתִ֖יme וְאֹתָ֥ךְand you חיהיְחַיּוּ :they will keep alive
יג אמראִמְרִיsay- נָ֖אnow אחותאֲחֹ֣תִיmy sister אָ֑תְּyou לְמַ֙עַן֙to intent יטביִיטַבit will be well- לִ֣יto me עבורבַעֲבוּרֵ֔ךְin for sake of you חיהוְחָיְתָ֥הand she will live נפשנַפְשִׁ֖יmy soul גללבִּגְלָלֵךְ :because of you
יד היהוַיְהִ֕יAnd it was בואכְּב֥וֹאlike coming of אַבְרָ֖םAvram מִצְרָ֑יְמָהto Egypt ראהוַיִּרְא֤וּand they saw הַמִּצְרִים֙the Egyptians אֶת(direct object)-אשההָ֣אִשָּׁ֔הthe woman כִּיthat-יפהיָפָ֥הfair הִ֖ואshe is מְאֹד :very much
טו ראהוַיִּרְא֤וּand they saw אֹתָהּ֙her שרשָׂרֵ֣יprinces of פַרְעֹ֔הPharaoh הללוַיְהַלְל֥וּand they praised אֹתָ֖הּher אֶלto- פַּרְעֹ֑הPharaoh לקחוַתֻּקַּ֥חand she was taken אשההָאִשָּׁ֖הthe woman ביתבֵּ֥יתto house of פַּרְעֹה :Pharaoh
טז וּלְאַבְרָ֥םand to Avram יטבהֵיטִ֖יבhe dealt well עבורבַּעֲבוּרָ֑הּin for sake of her היהוַיְהִיand it was- ל֤וֹto him צאןצֹאןflocks-בקרוּבָקָר֙and herds חמורוַחֲמֹרִ֔יםand donkeys עבדוַעֲבָדִים֙and male servants שפחהוּשְׁפָחֹ֔תand female servants אתוןוַאֲתֹנֹ֖תand female donkeys גמלוּגְמַלִּים :and camels
יז נגעוַיְנַגַּ֨עand He plagued יְהוָ֧הHashem אֶת(direct object)- פַּרְעֹ֛הPharaoh נגענְגָעִ֥יםplagues גדולגְּדֹלִ֖יםgreat וְאֶתand (direct object)-ביתבֵּית֑וֹhis house עַלon-דברדְּבַ֥רword of שָׂרַ֖יSarai אשהאֵ֥שֶׁתwife of אַבְרָם :Avram
יח קראוַיִּקְרָ֤אand he called פַרְעֹה֙Pharaoh לְאַבְרָ֔םto Avram אמרוַיֹּ֕אמֶרand he said מַהwhat- זֹּ֖אתthis עשהעָשִׂ֣יתָyou have done לִּ֑יto me לָ֚מָּהwhy לֹאnot-נגדהִגַּ֣דְתָּyou told לִּ֔יto me כִּ֥יthat אשהאִשְׁתְּךָ֖your wife הִוא :she is
יט לָמָ֤הwhy אמראָמַ֙רְתָּ֙you said אחותאֲחֹ֣תִיmy sister הִ֔ואshe is לקחוָאֶקַּ֥חand I took אֹתָ֛הּher לִ֖יto me אשהלְאִשָּׁ֑הto a wife וְעַתָּ֕הand now הִנֵּ֥הbehold אשהאִשְׁתְּךָ֖your wife לקחקַ֥חtake ילךוָלֵךְ :and go
כ צוהוַיְצַ֥וand he commanded עָלָ֛יוon him פַּרְעֹ֖הPharaoh אישאֲנָשִׁ֑יםmen שלחוַיְשַׁלְּח֥וּand they sent away אֹת֛וֹhim וְאֶתand (direct object)-אשהאִשְׁתּ֖וֹhis wife וְאֶתand (direct object)-כלכָּלall of- אֲשֶׁרthat- לוֹ :to him
א עלהוַיַּעַל֩and he went up אַבְרָ֨םAvram מִמִּצְרַ֜יִםfrom Egypt ה֠וּאhe אשהוְאִשְׁתּ֧וֹand his wife כלוְכָלand all of- אֲשֶׁרthat- ל֛וֹto him וְל֥וֹטand Lot עִמּ֖וֹwith him נגבהַנֶּגְבָּה :to the south
ב וְאַבְרָ֖םand Avram כבדכָּבֵ֣דheavy מְאֹ֑דvery much מקנהבַּמִּקְנֶ֕הin the cattle כסףבַּכֶּ֖סֶףin the silver זהבוּבַזָּהָב :and in the gold
ג ילךוַיֵּ֙לֶךְ֙and he went מסעלְמַסָּעָ֔יוto his journeys נגבמִנֶּ֖גֶבfrom south וְעַדand to- בֵּיתBethel- אֵ֑לBeth-El, a place... עַדto-מקוםהַמָּק֗וֹםthe place אֲשֶׁרthat-היההָ֨יָהwas שָׁ֤םthere אהלאָהֳלהhis tent תחלהבַּתְּחִלָּ֔הin the beginning בֵּ֥יןbetween בֵּיתBethel- אֵ֖לBeth-El, a place... וּבֵ֥יןand between הָעָי :the Hai
ד אֶלto-מקוםמְקוֹם֙place of מזבחהַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַthe altar אֲשֶׁרthat-עשהעָ֥שָׂהhe made שָׁ֖םthere ראשוןבָּרִאשֹׁנָ֑הin the first קראוַיִּקְרָ֥אand he called שָׁ֛םthere אַבְרָ֖םAvram שםבְּשֵׁ֥םin name of יְהוָה :Hashem
ה וְגַםand also- לְל֔וֹטto Lot הלךהַהֹלֵ֖ךְthe going אֶת(direct object)- אַבְרָ֑םAvram היההָיָ֥הwas צאןצֹאןflocks-בקרוּבָקָ֖רand herds אהלוְאֹהָלִים :and tents
ו וְלֹאand not-נשאנָשָׂ֥אdid bear אֹתָ֛םthem ארץהָאָ֖רֶץthe land ישבלָשֶׁ֣בֶתto dwell יַחְדָּ֑וtogether כִּיfor-היההָיָ֤הwas רכושרְכוּשָׁם֙their substance רברָ֔בgreat וְלֹ֥אand not יכליָכְל֖וּthey were able ישבלָשֶׁ֥בֶתto dwell יַחְדָּו :together
ז היהוַיְהִיAnd it was-ריברִ֗יבa strife בֵּ֚יןbetween רעירֹעֵ֣יherdsmen of מקנהמִקְנֵהcattle of- אַבְרָ֔םAvram וּבֵ֖יןand between רעירֹעֵ֣יherdsmen of מקנהמִקְנֵהcattle of- ל֑וֹטLot וְהַכְּנַעֲנִי֙and the Canaanite וְהַפְּרִזִּ֔יand the Perizzite אָ֖זthen ישביֹשֵׁ֥בdwelling ארץבָּאָרֶץ :in the land
ח אמרוַיֹּ֨אמֶרand he said אַבְרָ֜םAvram אֶלto- ל֗וֹטLot אַלnot- נָ֨אnow היהתְהִ֤יwill be מריבהמְרִיבָה֙strife בֵּינִ֣יbetween me וּבֵינֶ֔ךָand between you וּבֵ֥יןand between רעירֹעַ֖יmy herdsmen וּבֵ֣יןand between רעירֹעֶ֑יךָyour herdsmen כִּיfor-אישאֲנָשִׁ֥יםmen אחאַחִ֖יםbrothers אֲנָחְנוּ :we are
ט הֲלֹ֤אis not כלכָלall of-ארץהָאָ֙רֶץ֙the land פניםלְפָנֶ֔יךָbefore you פרדהִפָּ֥רֶדseparate נָ֖אnow מֵעָלָ֑יfrom on me אִםif-שמאולהַשְּׂמֹ֣אלthe left ימןוְאַשְׂמְ֔אִילָהand I will go right וְאִםand if-ימיןהַיָּמִ֖יןthe right שמאלוְאַיְמִינָה :and I will go left
י נשאוַיִּשָּׂאand he lifted up- ל֣וֹטLot אֶת(direct object)-עיןעֵינָ֗יוhis eyes ראהוַיַּרְא֙and he saw אֶת(direct object)-כלכָּלall of-ככרכִּכַּ֣רplain of הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ןthe Jordan כִּ֥יthat כלכֻלָּ֖הּall of it משקהמַשְׁקֶ֑הwell watered פניםלִפְנֵ֣יbefore שחתשַׁחֵ֣תdestroying of יְהוָ֗הHashem אֶת(direct object)- סְדֹם֙Sodom וְאֶתand (direct object)- עֲמֹרָ֔הGomorrah גןכְּגַןlike garden of- יְהוָה֙Hashem ארץכְּאֶ֣רֶץlike land of מִצְרַ֔יִםEgypt בואבֹּאֲכָ֖הyour coming צֹעַר :Zoar
יא בחרוַיִּבְחַרand he chose- ל֣וֹto him ל֗וֹטLot אֵ֚ת(direct object) כלכָּלall of-ככרכִּכַּ֣רplain of הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ןthe Jordan נסעוַיִּסַּ֥עand he journeyed ל֖וֹטLot קדםמִקֶּ֑דֶםfrom east פרדוַיִּפָּ֣רְד֔וּand they separated אישאִ֖ישׁman מֵעַ֥לfrom on אחאָחִיו :his brother
יב אַבְרָ֖םAvram ישביָשַׁ֣בdwelt ארץבְּאֶרֶץin land of- כְּנָ֑עַןCanaan וְל֗וֹטand Lot ישביָשַׁב֙dwelt עירבְּעָרֵ֣יin cities of ככרהַכִּכָּ֔רthe plain אהלוַיֶּאֱהַ֖לand he pitched his tent עַדto- סְדֹם :Sodom
יג אישוְאַנְשֵׁ֣יand men of סְדֹ֔םSodom רערָעִ֖יםevil חטאוְחַטָּאִ֑יםand sinners לַיהוָ֖הto Hashem מְאֹד :very much
יד וַיהוָ֞הand Hashem אמראָמַ֣רsaid אֶלto- אַבְרָ֗םAvram אַחֲרֵי֙after פרדהִפָּרֶדseparating of- ל֣וֹטLot מֵעִמּ֔וֹfrom with him נשאשָׂ֣אlift up נָ֤אnow עיןעֵינֶ֙יךָ֙your eyes ראהוּרְאֵ֔הand see מִןfrom-מקוםהַמָּק֖וֹםthe place אֲשֶׁרthat- אַתָּ֣הyou שָׁ֑םthere צפוןצָפֹ֥נָהto north נגבוָנֶ֖גְבָּהand to south קדםוָקֵ֥דְמָהand to east יםוָיָמָּה :and he to west
טו כִּ֧יfor אֶת(direct object)-כלכָּלall of-ארץהָאָ֛רֶץthe land אֲשֶׁרthat- אַתָּ֥הyou ראהרֹאֶ֖הare seeing לְךָ֣to you נתןאֶתְּנֶ֑נָּהI will give her זרעוּלְזַרְעֲךָ֖and to your seed עַדto-עולםעוֹלָם :eternity
טז שוםוְשַׂמְתִּ֥יand I will make אֶת(direct object)-זרעזַרְעֲךָ֖your seed עפרכַּעֲפַ֣רlike dust of ארץהָאָ֑רֶץthe earth אֲשֶׁ֣רthat אִםif-יכליוּכַ֣לwill be able אישאִ֗ישׁman מנהלִמְנוֹת֙to count אֶת(direct object)-עפרעֲפַ֣רdust of ארץהָאָ֔רֶץthe earth גַּםalso-זרעזַרְעֲךָ֖your seed מנהיִמָּנֶה :will be counted
יז קוםק֚וּםarise הלךהִתְהַלֵּ֣ךְwalk ארץבָּאָ֔רֶץin the land ארךלְאָרְכָּ֖הּto her length רחבוּלְרָחְבָּ֑הּand to her breadth כִּ֥יfor לְךָ֖to you נתןאֶתְּנֶנָּה :I will give her
יח אהלוַיֶּאֱהַ֣לand he pitched his tent אַבְרָ֗םAvram בואוַיָּבֹ֛אand he came ישבוַיֵּ֛שֶׁבand he dwelt אלוןבְּאֵלֹנֵ֥יin plains of מַמְרֵ֖אMamre אֲשֶׁ֣רthat בְּחֶבְר֑וֹןin Hebron בנהוַיִּבֶןand he built- שָׁ֥םthere מזבחמִזְבֵּ֖חַan altar לַיהוָה :to Hashem
א היהוַיְהִ֗יand it was יוםבִּימֵי֙in days of אַמְרָפֶ֣לAmraphel מלךמֶלֶךְking of- שִׁנְעָ֔רShinar אַרְי֖וֹךְArioch מלךמֶ֣לֶךְking of אֶלָּסָ֑רEllasar כְּדָרְלָעֹ֙מֶר֙Chedorlaomer מלךמֶ֣לֶךְking of עֵילָ֔םElam וְתִדְעָ֖לand Tidal מלךמֶ֥לֶךְking of גּוֹיִם :nations
ב עשהעָשׂ֣וּthey made מלחמהמִלְחָמָ֗הwar אֶתwith- בֶּ֙רַע֙Bera מלךמֶ֣לֶךְking of סְדֹ֔םSodom וְאֶתand with- בִּרְשַׁ֖עBirsha מלךמֶ֣לֶךְking of עֲמֹרָ֑הGomorrah שִׁנְאָ֣בShinab מלךמֶ֣לֶךְking of אַדְמָ֗הAdmah וְשֶׁמְאֵ֙בֶר֙and Shemeber מלךמֶ֣לֶךְking of צְבֹיִ֔יםZeboiim מלךוּמֶ֥לֶךְand king of בֶּ֖לַעBela הִיאshe is- צֹעַר :Zoar
ג כלכָּלall of- אֵ֙לֶּה֙these חברחָבְר֔וּthey joined אֶלto-עמקעֵ֖מֶקvalley of הַשִּׂדִּ֑יםthe Siddim ה֖וּאhe is יםיָ֥םsea of מלחהַמֶּלַח :the salt
ד שניםשְׁתֵּ֤יםtwo עשרעֶשְׂרֵה֙teen שנהשָׁנָ֔הyear עבדעָבְד֖וּthey served אֶת(direct object)- כְּדָרְלָעֹ֑מֶרChedorlaomer שלושוּשְׁלֹשׁand three-עשרעֶשְׂרֵ֥הteen שנהשָׁנָ֖הyear מרדמָרָדוּ :they rebelled
ה ארבעוּבְאַרְבַּע֩and in four עשרעֶשְׂרֵ֨הteen שנהשָׁנָ֜הyear בואבָּ֣אcame כְדָרְלָעֹ֗מֶרChedorlaomer מלךוְהַמְּלָכִים֙and the kings אֲשֶׁ֣רthat אִתּ֔וֹwith him נכהוַיַּכּ֤וּand they struck אֶת(direct object)- רְפָאִים֙Rephaim בְּעַשְׁתְּרֹ֣תin Ashteroth קַרְנַ֔יִםKarnaim וְאֶתand (direct object)- הַזּוּזִ֖יםthe Zuzim בְּהָ֑םin Ham וְאֵת֙and (direct object) הָאֵימִ֔יםthe Emim בְּשָׁוֵ֖הin Shaveh קִרְיָתָיִם :Kiriathaim
ו וְאֶתand (direct object)- הַחֹרִ֖יthe Horite הרבְּהַרְרָ֣םin their mountain שֵׂעִ֑ירSeir עַ֚דto אֵ֣ילEl פָּארָ֔ןParan אֲשֶׁ֖רthat עַלon-מדברהַמִּדְבָּר :the wilderness
ז שובוַ֠יָּשֻׁבוּand they returned בואוַיָּבֹ֜אוּand they came אֶלto- עֵ֤יןfountain of מִשְׁפָּט֙judgment הִ֣ואshe is קָדֵ֔שׁKadesh נכהוַיַּכּ֕וּand they struck אֶת(direct object)-כלכָּלall of-שדהשְׂדֵ֖הfield of הָעֲמָלֵקִ֑יthe Amalekite וְגַם֙and also אֶת(direct object)- הָ֣אֱמֹרִ֔יthe Amorite ישבהַיֹּשֵׁ֖בthe one dwelling בְּחַצְצֹ֥ןin Hazazon תָּמָר :Tamar
ח יצאוַיֵּצֵ֨אand he went out מלךמֶלֶךְking of- סְדֹ֜םSodom מלךוּמֶ֣לֶךְand king of עֲמֹרָ֗הGomorrah מלךוּמֶ֤לֶךְand king of אַדְמָה֙Admah מלךוּמֶ֣לֶךְand king of צְבֹיִי֔םZeboiim מלךוּמֶ֥לֶךְand king of בֶּ֖לַעBela הִואshe is- צֹ֑עַרZoar ערךוַיַּעַרְכ֤וּand they set in array אִתָּם֙with them מלחמהמִלְחָמָ֔הwar עמקבְּעֵ֖מֶקin valley of הַשִּׂדִּים :the Siddim
ט אֵ֣תwith כְּדָרְלָעֹ֜מֶרChedorlaomer מלךמֶ֣לֶךְking of עֵילָ֗םElam וְתִדְעָל֙and Tidal מלךמֶ֣לֶךְking of גּוֹיִ֔םnations וְאַמְרָפֶל֙and Amraphel מלךמֶ֣לֶךְking of שִׁנְעָ֔רShinar וְאַרְי֖וֹךְand Arioch מלךמֶ֣לֶךְking of אֶלָּסָ֑רEllasar ארבעאַרְבָּעָ֥הfour מלךמְלָכִ֖יםkings אֶתwith-חמשהַחֲמִשָּׁה :the five
י עמקוְעֵ֣מֶקand valley of הַשִּׂדִּ֗יםthe Siddim בארבֶּאֱרֹ֤תwells of בארבֶּאֱרֹת֙wells of חמרחֵמָ֔רslime נוסוַיָּנֻ֛סוּand they fled מלךמֶלֶךְking of- סְדֹ֥םSodom וַעֲמֹרָ֖הand Gomorrah נפלוַיִּפְּלוּand they fell- שָׁ֑מָּהthere שארוְהַנִּשְׁאָרִ֖יםand the ones remaining הרהֶ֥רָהto mountain נוסנָּסוּ :they fled
יא לקחוַ֠יִּקְחוּand they took אֶת(direct object)-כלכָּלall of-רכושרְכֻ֨שׁsubstance of סְדֹ֧םSodom וַעֲמֹרָ֛הand Gomorrah וְאֶתand (direct object)-כלכָּלall of-אכלאָכְלָ֖םtheir food ילךוַיֵּלֵכוּ :and they went
יב לקחוַיִּקְח֨וּand they took אֶת(direct object)- ל֧וֹטLot וְאֶתand (direct object)-רכושרְכֻשׁ֛וּhis substance בןבֶּןson of-אחאֲחִ֥יbrother of אַבְרָ֖םAvram ילךוַיֵּלֵ֑כוּand they went וְה֥וּאand he ישביֹשֵׁ֖בdwelling בִּסְדֹם :in Sodom
יג בואוַיָּבֹא֙and he came פליטהַפָּלִ֔יטthe fugitive נגדוַיַּגֵּ֖דand he told לְאַבְרָ֣םto Avram הָעִבְרִ֑יthe Hebrew וְהוּא֩and he שכןשֹׁכֵ֨ןdwelling אלוןבְּאֵלֹנֵ֜יin plains of מַמְרֵ֣אMamre הָאֱמֹרִ֗יthe Amorite אחאֲחִ֤יbrother of אֶשְׁכֹּל֙Eshcol אחוַאֲחִ֣יand brother of עָנֵ֔רAner וְהֵ֖םand they בעלבַּעֲלֵ֥יmasters of בריתבְרִיתcovenant of- אַבְרָם :Avram
יד שמעוַיִּשְׁמַ֣עand he heard אַבְרָ֔םAvram כִּ֥יthat שבהנִשְׁבָּ֖הhe was taken captive אחאָחִ֑יוhis brother רוקוַיָּ֨רֶקand he led out אֶת(direct object)-חניךחֲנִיכָ֜יוhis trained men ילידיְלִידֵ֣יborn of ביתבֵית֗וֹhis house שמנהשְׁמֹנָ֤הeight עשרעָשָׂר֙teen שלושוּשְׁלֹ֣שׁand three מאהמֵא֔וֹתhundreds of רדףוַיִּרְדֹּ֖ףand he pursued עַדto- דָּן :Dan
טו חלקוַיֵּחָלֵ֨קand he was divided עֲלֵיהֶ֧םon them ליללַ֛יְלָהnight ה֥וּאhe עבדוַעֲבָדָ֖יוand his servants נכהוַיַּכֵּ֑םand he struck them רדףוַיִּרְדְּפֵם֙and he pursued them עַדto- חוֹבָ֔הHobah אֲשֶׁ֥רthat שמאולמִשְּׂמֹ֖אלfrom left לְדַמָּשֶׂק :to Damascus
טז שובוַיָּ֕שֶׁבand he brought back אֵ֖ת(direct object) כלכָּלall of-רכושהָרְכֻ֑שׁthe substance וְגַם֩and also אֶת(direct object)- ל֨וֹטLot אחאָחִ֤יוhis brother רכושוּרְכֻשׁוֹ֙and his substance שובהֵשִׁ֔יבhe brought back וְגַ֥םand also אֶת(direct object)-אשההַנָּשִׁ֖יםthe women וְאֶתand (direct object)-עםהָעָם :the people
יז יצאוַיֵּצֵ֣אand he went out מלךמֶלֶךְking of- סְדֹם֮Sodom קראהלִקְרָאתוֹ֒to his meeting אַחֲרֵ֣יafter שובשׁוּב֗וֹhis returning נכהמֵהַכּוֹת֙from smiting of אֶת(direct object)- כְּדָרְלָעֹ֔מֶרChedorlaomer וְאֶתand (direct object)-מלךהַמְּלָכִ֖יםthe kings אֲשֶׁ֣רthat אִתּ֑וֹwith him אֶלto-עמקעֵ֣מֶקvalley of הַשָּׁוֵ֔הShaveh ה֖וּאhe is עמקעֵ֥מֶקvalley of מלךהַמֶּלֶךְ :the king
יח וּמַלְכִּיand Melchizedek- צֶ֙דֶק֙Malki-Tsedek, an early... מלךמֶ֣לֶךְking of שָׁלֵ֔םSalem יצאהוֹצִ֖יאbrought out לחםלֶ֣חֶםbread ייןוָיָ֑יִןand he wine וְה֥וּאand he כהןכֹהֵ֖ןpriest אללְאֵ֥לto God עליוןעֶלְיוֹן :most high
יט ברךוַיְבָרֲכֵ֖הוּand he blessed him אמרוַיֹּאמַ֑רand he said ברךבָּר֤וּךְblessed אַבְרָם֙Avram אללְאֵ֣לto God עליוןעֶלְי֔וֹןmost high קנהקֹנֵ֖הpossessor of שמיםשָׁמַ֥יִםheavens ארץוָאָרֶץ :and earth
כ ברךוּבָרוּךְ֙and blessed אלאֵ֣לGod עליוןעֶלְי֔וֹןmost high אֲשֶׁרthat-מגןמִגֵּ֥ןHe delivered צרצָרֶ֖יךָyour enemies ידבְּיָדֶ֑ךָin your hand נתןוַיִּתֶּןand he gave- ל֥וֹto him מעשרמַעֲשֵׂ֖רtithe כלמִכֹּל :from all of
כא אמרוַיֹּ֥אמֶרand he said מלךמֶלֶךְking of- סְדֹ֖םSodom אֶלto- אַבְרָ֑םAvram נתןתֶּןgive- לִ֣יto me נפשהַנֶּ֔פֶשׁthe soul רכושוְהָרְכֻ֖שׁand the substance לקחקַחtake- לָךָ :to you
כב אמרוַיֹּ֥אמֶרand he said אַבְרָ֖םAvram אֶלto-מלךמֶ֣לֶךְking of סְדֹ֑םSodom רוםהֲרִימֹ֨תִיI have lifted up ידיָדִ֤יmy hand אֶלto- יְהוָה֙Hashem אלאֵ֣לGod עליוןעֶלְי֔וֹןmost high קנהקֹנֵ֖הpossessor of שמיםשָׁמַ֥יִםheavens ארץוָאָרֶץ :and earth
כג אִםif-חוטמִחוּט֙from thread וְעַ֣דand to שרוךשְׂרוֹךְlace of-נעלנַ֔עַלshoe וְאִםand if-לקחאֶקַּ֖חI will take כלמִכָּלfrom all of- אֲשֶׁרthat- לָ֑ךְto you וְלֹ֣אand not אמרתֹאמַ֔רyou will say אֲנִ֖יI עשרהֶעֱשַׁ֥רְתִּיI have made rich אֶת(direct object)- אַבְרָם :Avram
כד בִּלְעָדַ֗יwithout me רַ֚קonly אֲשֶׁ֣רthat אכלאָכְל֣וּthey have eaten נערהַנְּעָרִ֔יםthe young men חלקוְחֵ֙לֶק֙and portion of אישהָאֲנָשִׁ֔יםthe men אֲשֶׁ֥רthat הלךהָלְכ֖וּwent אִתִּ֑יwith me עָנֵר֙Aner אֶשְׁכֹּ֣לEshcol וּמַמְרֵ֔אand Mamre הֵ֖םthey לקחיִקְח֥וּwill take חלקחֶלְקָם :their portion
א אַחַ֣רafter דברהַדְּבָרִ֣יםthe words הָאֵ֗לֶּהthese היההָיָ֤הwas דברדְבַרword of- יְהוָה֙Hashem אֶלto- אַבְרָ֔םAvram מחזהבַּמַּחֲזֶ֖הin the vision אמרלֵאמֹ֑רsaying אַלnot-יראתִּירָ֣אfear אַבְרָ֗םAvram אָנֹכִי֙I מגןמָגֵ֣ןshield לָ֔ךְto you שכרשְׂכָרְךָ֖your reward רבההַרְבֵּ֥הmultiplying מְאֹד :very much
ב אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרand he said אַבְרָ֗םAvram אדניאֲדֹנָ֤יLord יֱהוִה֙Hashem מַהwhat-נתןתִּתֶּןwill You give- לִ֔יto me וְאָנֹכִ֖יand I הלךהוֹלֵ֣ךְgoing עריריעֲרִירִ֑יchildless בןוּבֶןand son of-משקמֶ֣שֶׁקsteward of ביתבֵּיתִ֔יmy house ה֖וּאhe is דַּמֶּ֥שֶׂקDamascus אֱלִיעֶזֶר :Eliezer
ג אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרand he said אַבְרָ֔םAvram הֵ֣ןbehold לִ֔יto me לֹ֥אnot נתןנָתַ֖תָּהYou have given זרעזָ֑רַעseed וְהִנֵּ֥הand behold בןבֶןson of-ביתבֵּיתִ֖יmy house ירשיוֹרֵ֥שׁinheriting אֹתִי :me
ד וְהִנֵּ֨הand behold דברדְבַרword of- יְהוָ֤הHashem אֵלָיו֙to him אמרלֵאמֹ֔רsaying לֹ֥אnot ירשיִירָשְׁךָ֖will inherit you זֶ֑הthis כִּיfor- אִם֙if אֲשֶׁ֣רthat יצאיֵצֵ֣אwill go out מעהמִמֵּעֶ֔יךָfrom your bowels ה֖וּאhe ירשיִירָשֶׁךָ :will inherit you
ה יצאוַיּוֹצֵ֨אand he brought out אֹת֜וֹhim חוץהַח֗וּצָהto the outside אמרוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙and He said נבטהַבֶּטlook- נָ֣אnow שמיםהַשָּׁמַ֗יְמָהto the heavens ספרוּסְפֹר֙and count כוכבהַכּ֣וֹכָבִ֔יםthe stars אִםif-יכלתּוּכַ֖לyou will be able ספרלִסְפֹּ֣רto count אֹתָ֑םthem אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרand He said ל֔וֹto him כֹּ֥הso היהיִהְיֶ֖הwill be זרעזַרְעֶךָ :your seed
ו אמןוְהֶאֱמִ֖ןand he believed בַּיהוָ֑הin Hashem חשבוַיַּחְשְׁבֶ֥הָand He accounted her לּ֖וֹto him צדקהצְדָקָה :righteousness
ז אמרוַיֹּ֖אמֶרand He said אֵלָ֑יוto him אֲנִ֣יI יְהוָ֗הHashem אֲשֶׁ֤רthat יצאהוֹצֵאתִ֙יךָ֙I brought you out מֵא֣וּרfrom Ur of כַּשְׂדִּ֔יםChaldees נתןלָ֧תֶתto give לְךָ֛to you אֶת(direct object)-ארץהָאָ֥רֶץthe land הַזֹּ֖אתthe this ירשלְרִשְׁתָּהּ :to inherit her
ח אמרוַיֹּאמַ֑רand he said אדניאֲדֹנָ֣יLord יֱהוִ֔הHashem בַּמָּ֥הin what ידעאֵדַ֖עwill I know כִּ֥יthat ירשאִירָשֶׁנָּה :I will inherit her
ט אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרand He said אֵלָ֗יוto him לקחקְחָ֥הtake לִי֙to Me עגלהעֶגְלָ֣הa heifer שלשמְשֻׁלֶּ֔שֶׁתthree years old עזוְעֵ֥זand a goat שלשמְשֻׁלֶּ֖שֶׁתthree years old אילוְאַ֣יִלand a ram שלשמְשֻׁלָּ֑שׁthree years old תורוְתֹ֖רand she a turtledove גוזלוְגוֹזָל :and a young pigeon
י לקחוַיִּקַּחand he took- ל֣וֹto him אֶת(direct object)-כלכָּלall of- אֵ֗לֶּהthese בתרוַיְבַתֵּ֤רand he divided אֹתָם֙them תוךבַּתָּ֔וֶךְin the midst נתןוַיִּתֵּ֥ןand he laid אישאִישׁeach piece-בתרבִּתְר֖וֹits piece קראהלִקְרַ֣אתto meeting of רערֵעֵ֑הוּhis neighbor וְאֶתand (direct object)-צפורהַצִּפֹּ֖רthe bird לֹ֥אnot בתרבָתָר :he divided
יא ירדוַיֵּ֥רֶדand he came down עיטהָעַ֖יִטthe bird of prey עַלon-פגרהַפְּגָרִ֑יםthe carcasses נשבוַיַּשֵּׁ֥בand he drove away אֹתָ֖םthem אַבְרָם :Avram
יב היהוַיְהִ֤יand it was שמשהַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙the sun בואלָב֔וֹאcome תרדמהוְתַרְדֵּמָ֖הand she deep sleep נפלנָפְלָ֣הfell עַלon- אַבְרָ֑םAvram וְהִנֵּ֥הand behold אימהאֵימָ֛הterror חשכהחֲשֵׁכָ֥הdarkness גדולגְדֹלָ֖הgreat נפלנֹפֶ֥לֶתfalling עָלָיו :on him
יג אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרand He said לְאַבְרָ֗םto Avram ידעיָדֹ֨עַknowing ידעתֵּדַ֜עyou will know כִּיthat-גרגֵ֣רa stranger היהיִהְיֶ֣הwill be זרעזַרְעֲךָ֗your seed ארץבְּאֶ֙רֶץ֙in a land לֹ֣אnot לָהֶ֔םto them עבדוַעֲבָד֖וּםand they will serve them ענהוְעִנּ֣וּand they will afflict אֹתָ֑םthem ארבעאַרְבַּ֥עfour מאהמֵא֖וֹתhundreds of שנהשָׁנָה :year
יד וְגַ֧םand also אֶת(direct object)-גויהַגּ֛וֹיthe nation אֲשֶׁ֥רthat עבדיַעֲבֹ֖דוּthey will serve דיןדָּ֣ןjudging אָנֹ֑כִיI am וְאַחֲרֵיand after- כֵ֥ןso יצאיֵצְא֖וּthey will go out רכושבִּרְכֻ֥שׁin substance גדולגָּדוֹל :great
טו וְאַתָּ֛הand you בואתָּב֥וֹאyou will go אֶלto-אבאֲבֹתֶ֖יךָyour fathers שלוםבְּשָׁל֑וֹםin peace קברתִּקָּבֵ֖רyou will be buried שיבהבְּשֵׂיבָ֥הin old age טובטוֹבָה :good
טז דורוְד֥וֹרand generation רביעירְבִיעִ֖יfourth שוביָשׁ֣וּבוּthey will return הֵ֑נָּהhere כִּ֧יfor לֹאnot-שלםשָׁלֵ֛םcomplete עוןעֲוֹ֥ןiniquity of הָאֱמֹרִ֖יthe Amorite עַדto- הֵנָּה :here
יז היהוַיְהִ֤יand it was שמשהַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙the sun בואבָּ֔אָהwent down עלטהוַעֲלָטָ֖הand dark darkness היההָיָ֑הwas וְהִנֵּ֨הand behold תנורתַנּ֤וּרfurnace of עשןעָשָׁן֙smoke לפידוְלַפִּ֣ידand torch of אשאֵ֔שׁfire אֲשֶׁ֣רthat עברעָבַ֔רpassed בֵּ֖יןbetween גזרהַגְּזָרִ֥יםthe pieces הָאֵלֶּה :these
יח יוםבַּיּ֣וֹםin the day הַה֗וּאthe that כרתכָּרַ֧תHe made יְהוָ֛הHashem אֶתwith- אַבְרָ֖םAvram בריתבְּרִ֣יתcovenant אמרלֵאמֹ֑רsaying זרעלְזַרְעֲךָ֗to your seed נתןנָתַ֙תִּי֙I have given אֶת(direct object)-ארץהָאָ֣רֶץthe land הַזֹּ֔אתthe this נהרמִנְּהַ֣רfrom river of מִצְרַ֔יִםEgypt עַדto-נהרהַנָּהָ֥רthe river גדולהַגָּדֹ֖לthe great נהרנְהַרriver of- פְּרָת :Euphrates
יט אֶת(direct object)- הַקֵּינִי֙the Kenite וְאֶתand (direct object)- הַקְּנִזִּ֔יthe Kenizzite וְאֵ֖תand (direct object) הַקַּדְמֹנִי :the Kadmonite
כ וְאֶתand (direct object)- הַחִתִּ֥יthe Hittite וְאֶתand (direct object)- הַפְּרִזִּ֖יthe Perizzite וְאֶתand (direct object)- הָרְפָאִים :the Rephaim

א וְשָׂרַי֙and Sarai אשהאֵ֣שֶׁתwife of אַבְרָ֔םAvram לֹ֥אnot ילדיָלְדָ֖הshe bore ל֑וֹto him וְלָ֛הּand to her שפחהשִׁפְחָ֥הa handmaid מִצְרִ֖יתEgyptian שםוּשְׁמָ֥הּand her name הָגָר :Hagar
ב אמרוַתֹּ֨אמֶרand she said שָׂרַ֜יSarai אֶלto- אַבְרָ֗םAvram הִנֵּהbehold- נָ֞אnow עצרעֲצָרַ֤נִיHe has restrained me יְהוָה֙Hashem ילדמִלֶּ֔דֶתfrom bearing בואבֹּאgo in- נָא֙now אֶלto-שפחהשִׁפְחָתִ֔יmy handmaid אוּלַ֥יperhaps בנהאִבָּנֶ֖הI will be built מִמֶּ֑נָּהfrom her שמעוַיִּשְׁמַ֥עand he hearkened אַבְרָ֖םAvram קוללְק֥וֹלto voice of שָׂרָי :Sarai
ג לקחוַתִּקַּ֞חand she took שָׂרַ֣יSarai אשהאֵשֶׁתwife of אַבְרָ֗םAvram אֶת(direct object)- הָגָ֤רHagar הַמִּצְרִית֙the Egyptian שפחהשִׁפְחָתָ֔הּher handmaid קץמִקֵּץ֙from end of עשרעֶ֣שֶׂרten שנהשָׁנִ֔יםyears ישבלְשֶׁ֥בֶתto dwelling of אַבְרָ֖םAvram ארץבְּאֶ֣רֶץin land of כְּנָ֑עַןCanaan נתןוַתִּתֵּ֥ןand she gave אֹתָ֛הּher לְאַבְרָ֥םto Avram אישאִישָׁ֖הּher husband ל֥וֹto him אשהלְאִשָּׁה :to a wife
ד בואוַיָּבֹ֥אand he went in אֶלto- הָגָ֖רHagar הרהוַתַּ֑הַרand she conceived ראהוַתֵּ֙רֶא֙and she saw כִּ֣יthat הרההָרָ֔תָהshe conceived קללוַתֵּקַ֥לand she was despised גברתגְּבִרְתָּ֖הּher mistress עיןבְּעֵינֶיהָ :in her eyes
ה אמרוַתֹּ֨אמֶרand she said שָׂרַ֣יSarai אֶלto- אַבְרָם֮Avram חמסחֲמָסִ֣יmy wrong עָלֶיךָ֒on you אָנֹכִ֗יI נתןנָתַ֤תִּיI gave שפחהשִׁפְחָתִי֙my handmaid חיקבְּחֵיקֶ֔ךָin your chest ראהוַתֵּ֙רֶא֙and she saw כִּ֣יthat הרההָרָ֔תָהshe conceived קללוָאֵקַ֖לand I was despised עיןבְּעֵינֶ֑יהָin her eyes שפטיִשְׁפֹּ֥טwill judge יְהוָ֖הHashem בֵּינִ֥יbetween me וּבֵינֶיךָ :and between you
ו אמרוַיֹּ֨אמֶרand he said אַבְרָ֜םAvram אֶלto- שָׂרַ֗יSarai הִנֵּ֤הbehold שפחהשִׁפְחָתֵךְ֙your handmaid ידבְּיָדֵ֔ךְin your hand עשהעֲשִׂיdo- לָ֖הּto her טובהַטּ֣וֹבthe good עיןבְּעֵינָ֑יִךְin your eyes ענהוַתְּעַנֶּ֣הָand she afflicted her שָׂרַ֔יSarai ברחוַתִּבְרַ֖חand she fled פניםמִפָּנֶיהָ :from her face
ז מצאוַיִּמְצָאָ֞הּand he found her מלאךמַלְאַ֧ךְangel of יְהוָ֛הHashem עַלon-עיןעֵ֥יןfountain of מיםהַמָּ֖יִםthe waters מדברבַּמִּדְבָּ֑רin the wilderness עַלon-עיןהָעַ֖יִןthe fountain דרךבְּדֶ֥רֶךְin way of שׁוּר :Shur
ח אמרוַיֹּאמַ֗רand he said הָגָ֞רHagar שפחהשִׁפְחַ֥תhandmaid of שָׂרַ֛יSarai אֵיfrom where- מִזֶּ֥הthe masculine demonstrative... בואבָּ֖אתyou came וְאָ֣נָהand to where ילךתֵלֵ֑כִיyou will go אמרוַתֹּ֕אמֶרand she said פניםמִפְּנֵי֙from face of שָׂרַ֣יSarai גברתגְּבִרְתִּ֔יmy mistress אָנֹכִ֖יI ברחבֹּרַחַת :fleeing
ט אמרוַיֹּ֤אמֶרand he said לָהּ֙to her מלאךמַלְאַ֣ךְangel of יְהוָ֔הHashem שובשׁ֖וּבִיreturn אֶלto-גברתגְּבִרְתֵּ֑ךְyour mistress ענהוְהִתְעַנִּ֖יand submit yourself תַּ֥חַתunder ידיָדֶיהָ :her hands
י אמרוַיֹּ֤אמֶרand he said לָהּ֙to her מלאךמַלְאַ֣ךְangel of יְהוָ֔הHashem רבההַרְבָּ֥הmultiplying רבהאַרְבֶּ֖הI will multiply אֶת(direct object)-זרעזַרְעֵ֑ךְyour seed וְלֹ֥אand not ספריִסָּפֵ֖רhe will be counted רבמֵרֹב :from multitude
יא אמרוַיֹּ֤אמֶרand he said לָהּ֙to her מלאךמַלְאַ֣ךְangel of יְהוָ֔הHashem הִנָּ֥ךְbehold you הרההָרָ֖הwith child ילדוְיֹלַ֣דְתְּand you will bear בןבֵּ֑ןson קראוְקָרָ֤אתand you will call שםשְׁמוֹ֙his name יִשְׁמָעֵ֔אלYishmael כִּיfor-שמעשָׁמַ֥עHe heard יְהוָ֖הHashem אֶלto-עניעָנְיֵךְ :your affliction
יב וְה֤וּאand he היהיִהְיֶה֙will be פראפֶּ֣רֶאwild man of אדםאָדָ֔םman ידיָד֣וֹhis hand כלבַכֹּ֔לin all ידוְיַ֥דand he hand of כלכֹּ֖לall בּ֑וֹin him וְעַלand on-פניםפְּנֵ֥יface of כלכָלall of-אחאֶחָ֖יוhis brothers שכןיִשְׁכֹּן :he will dwell
יג קראוַתִּקְרָ֤אand she called שםשֵׁםname of- יְהוָה֙Hashem דברהַדֹּבֵ֣רthe speaking אֵלֶ֔יהָto her אַתָּ֖הYou אלאֵ֣לGod of ראירֳאִ֑יseeing כִּ֣יfor אמראָמְרָ֗הshe said הֲגַ֥םalso הֲלֹ֛םhere ראהרָאִ֖יתִיI saw אַחֲרֵ֥יafter ראהרֹאִי :my seeing
יד עַלon- כֵּן֙so קראקָרָ֣אhe called בארלַבְּאֵ֔רto the well בְּאֵ֥רwell of לַחַ֖יliving רֹאִ֑יseeing me הִנֵּ֥הbehold בֵיןbetween- קָדֵ֖שׁKadesh וּבֵ֥יןand between בָּרֶד :Bered
טו ילדוַתֵּ֧לֶדand she bore הָגָ֛רHagar לְאַבְרָ֖םto Avram בןבֵּ֑ןson קראוַיִּקְרָ֨אand he called אַבְרָ֧םAvram שםשֶׁםname of-בןבְּנ֛וֹhis son אֲשֶׁרthat-ילדיָלְדָ֥הshe bore הָגָ֖רHagar יִשְׁמָעֵאל :Yishmael
טז וְאַבְרָ֕םand Avram בןבֶּןson of-שמניםשְׁמֹנִ֥יםeighty שנהשָׁנָ֖הyear ששוְשֵׁ֣שׁand six שנהשָׁנִ֑יםyears ילדבְּלֶדֶתin bearing of הָגָ֥רHagar אֶת(direct object)- יִשְׁמָעֵ֖אלYishmael לְאַבְרָם :to Avram
א היהוַיְהִ֣יand it was אַבְרָ֔םAvram בןבֶּןson of-תשעיםתִּשְׁעִ֥יםninety שנהשָׁנָ֖הyear תשעוְתֵ֣שַׁעand nine שנהשָׁנִ֑יםyears ראהוַיֵּרָ֨אand He appeared יְהוָ֜הHashem אֶלto- אַבְרָ֗םAvram אמרוַיֹּ֤אמֶרand He said אֵלָיו֙to him אֲנִיI- אֵ֣לGod שַׁדַּ֔יAlmighty הלךהִתְהַלֵּ֥ךְwalk פניםלְפָנַ֖יbefore Me היהוֶהְיֵ֥הand be תמיםתָמִים :perfect
ב נתןוְאֶתְּנָ֥הand I will make בריתבְרִיתִ֖יMy covenant בֵּינִ֣יbetween Me וּבֵינֶ֑ךָand between you רבהוְאַרְבֶּ֥הand I will multiply אוֹתְךָ֖you בִּמְאֹ֥דin very much מְאֹד :very much
ג נפלוַיִּפֹּ֥לand he fell אַבְרָ֖םAvram אֶלon-פניםפָּנָ֑יוhis face דברוַיְדַבֵּ֥רand He spoke אִתּ֛וֹwith him אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֖יםHashem אמרלֵאמֹר :saying
ד אֲנִ֕יI הִנֵּ֥הbehold בריתבְרִיתִ֖יMy covenant אִתָּ֑ךְwith you היהוְהָיִ֕יתָand you will be אבלְאַ֖בto father of המוןהֲמ֥וֹןmultitude of גויגּוֹיִם :nations
ה וְלֹאand not-קראיִקָּרֵ֥אwill be called ע֛וֹדyet אֶת(direct object)-שםשִׁמְךָ֖your name אַבְרָ֑םAvram היהוְהָיָ֤הand will be שםשִׁמְךָ֙your name אַבְרָהָ֔םAvraham כִּ֛יfor אבאַבfather of-המוןהֲמ֥וֹןmultitude of גויגּוֹיִ֖םnations נתןנְתַתִּיךָ :I have given you
ו פרהוְהִפְרֵתִ֤יand I will make fruitful אֹתְךָ֙you בִּמְאֹ֣דin very much מְאֹ֔דvery much נתןוּנְתַתִּ֖יךָand I will make you גוילְגוֹיִ֑םto nations מלךוּמְלָכִ֖יםand kings מִמְּךָ֥from you יצאיֵצֵאוּ :will go out
ז קוםוַהֲקִמֹתִ֨יand I will establish אֶת(direct object)-בריתבְּרִיתִ֜יMy covenant בֵּינִ֣יbetween Me וּבֵינֶ֗ךָand between you וּבֵ֨יןand between זרעזַרְעֲךָ֧your seed אַחֲרֶ֛יךָafter you דורלְדֹרֹתָ֖םto their generations בריתלִבְרִ֣יתto covenant of עולםעוֹלָ֑םeternity היהלִהְי֤וֹתto be לְךָ֙to you אלהיםלֵאלֹהִ֔יםto Hashem זרעוּלְזַרְעֲךָ֖and to your seed אַחֲרֶיךָ :after you
ח נתןוְנָתַתִּ֣יand I will give לְ֠ךָto you זרעוּלְזַרְעֲךָ֨and to your seed אַחֲרֶ֜יךָafter you אֵ֣ת(direct object) ארץאֶ֣רֶץland of מגורמְגֻרֶ֗יךָyour sojournings אֵ֚ת(direct object) כלכָּלall of-ארץאֶ֣רֶץland of כְּנַ֔עַןCanaan אחזהלַאֲחֻזַּ֖תto possession of עולםעוֹלָ֑םeternity היהוְהָיִ֥יתִיand I will be לָהֶ֖םto them אלהיםלֵאלֹהִים :to Hashem
ט אמרוַיֹּ֤אמֶרand He said אלהיםאֱלֹהִים֙Hashem אֶלto- אַבְרָהָ֔םAvraham וְאַתָּ֖הand you אֶת(direct object)-בריתבְּרִיתִ֣יMy covenant שמרתִשְׁמֹ֑רyou will keep אַתָּ֛הyou זרעוְזַרְעֲךָ֥and your seed אַחֲרֶ֖יךָafter you דורלְדֹרֹתָם :to their generations
י זֹ֣אתthis בריתבְּרִיתִ֞יMy covenant אֲשֶׁ֣רthat שמרתִּשְׁמְר֗וּyou will keep בֵּינִי֙between Me וּבֵ֣ינֵיכֶ֔םand between you וּבֵ֥יןand between זרעזַרְעֲךָ֖your seed אַחֲרֶ֑יךָafter you מולהִמּ֥וֹלcircumcising לָכֶ֖םto you כלכָּלevery-זכרזָכָר :male
יא נמלוּנְמַלְתֶּ֕םand you will circumcise אֵ֖ת(direct object) בשרבְּשַׂ֣רflesh of ערלהעָרְלַתְכֶ֑םyour foreskin היהוְהָיָה֙and it will be אותלְא֣וֹתto a sign of בריתבְּרִ֔יתcovenant בֵּינִ֖יbetween Me וּבֵינֵיכֶם :and between you
יב בןוּבֶןand son of-שמנהשְׁמֹנַ֣תeight יוםיָמִ֗יםdays מוליִמּ֥וֹלwill be circumcised לָכֶ֛םto you כלכָּלevery-זכרזָכָ֖רmale דורלְדֹרֹתֵיכֶ֑םto your generations ילידיְלִ֣ידborn of ביתבָּ֔יִתhouse מקנהוּמִקְנַתand bought of-כסףכֶּ֙סֶף֙money כלמִכֹּ֣לfrom any בןבֶּןson of-נכרנֵכָ֔רstranger אֲשֶׁ֛רthat לֹ֥אnot זרעמִזַּרְעֲךָ֖from your seed הוּא :he is
יג מולהִמּ֧וֹלcircumcising מוליִמּ֛וֹלhe will be circumcised ילידיְלִ֥ידborn of ביתבֵּיתְךָ֖your house מקנהוּמִקְנַ֣תand bought of כסףכַּסְפֶּ֑ךָyour money היהוְהָיְתָ֧הand will be בריתבְרִיתִ֛יMy covenant בשרבִּבְשַׂרְכֶ֖םin your flesh בריתלִבְרִ֥יתto covenant of עולםעוֹלָם :eternity
יד ערלוְעָרֵ֣לand uncircumcised זכרזָכָ֗רmale אֲשֶׁ֤רthat לֹאnot-מוליִמּוֹל֙will be circumcised אֶת(direct object)-בשרבְּשַׂ֣רflesh of ערלהעָרְלָת֔וֹhis foreskin כרתוְנִכְרְתָ֛הand will be cut off נפשהַנֶּ֥פֶשׁthe soul הַהִ֖ואthe she עםמֵעַמֶּ֑יהָfrom her people אֶת(direct object)-בריתבְּרִיתִ֖יMy covenant פררהֵפַר :he has broken
טו אמרוַיֹּ֤אמֶרand He said אלהיםאֱלֹהִים֙Hashem אֶלto- אַבְרָהָ֔םAvraham שָׂרַ֣יSarai אשהאִשְׁתְּךָ֔your wife לֹאnot-קראתִקְרָ֥אyou will call אֶת(direct object)-שםשְׁמָ֖הּher name שָׂרָ֑יSarai כִּ֥יfor שָׂרָ֖הSarah שםשְׁמָהּ :her name
טז ברךוּבֵרַכְתִּ֣יand I will bless אֹתָ֔הּher וְגַ֨םand also נתןנָתַ֧תִּיI have given מִמֶּ֛נָּהfrom her לְךָ֖to you בןבֵּ֑ןa son ברךוּבֵרַכְתִּ֙יהָ֙and I will bless her היהוְהָיְתָ֣הand she will be גוילְגוֹיִ֔םto nations מלךמַלְכֵ֥יkings of עםעַמִּ֖יםpeoples מִמֶּ֥נָּהfrom her היהיִהְיוּ :will be
יז נפלוַיִּפֹּ֧לand he fell אַבְרָהָ֛םAvraham אֶלon-פניםפָּנָ֖יוhis face צחקוַיִּצְחָ֑קand he laughed אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרand he said לבבְּלִבּ֗וֹin his heart בןהַלְּבֶ֤ןto son of מאהמֵאָהhundred-שנהשָׁנָה֙year ילדיִוָּלֵ֔דwill be born וְאִ֨םand if- שָׂרָ֔הSarah בתהֲבַתthe daughter of-תשעיםתִּשְׁעִ֥יםninety שנהשָׁנָ֖הyear ילדתֵּלֵד :she will bear
יח אמרוַיֹּ֥אמֶרand he said אַבְרָהָ֖םAvraham אֶלto-אלהיםהָאֱלֹהִ֑יםthe Hashem ל֥וּoh that יִשְׁמָעֵ֖אלYishmael חיהיִחְיֶ֥הwill live פניםלְפָנֶיךָ :before You
יט אמרוַיֹּ֣אמֶרand He said אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֗יםHashem אֲבָל֙indeed שָׂרָ֣הSarah אשהאִשְׁתְּךָ֗your wife ילדיֹלֶ֤דֶתbearing לְךָ֙to you בןבֵּ֔ןa son קראוְקָרָ֥אתָand you will call אֶת(direct object)-שםשְׁמ֖וֹhis name יִצְחָ֑קYitzchok קוםוַהֲקִמֹתִ֨יand I will establish אֶת(direct object)-בריתבְּרִיתִ֥יMy covenant אִתּ֛וֹwith him בריתלִבְרִ֥יתto covenant of עולםעוֹלָ֖םeternity זרעלְזַרְע֥וֹto his seed אַחֲרָיו :after him
כ וּלְיִשְׁמָעֵ֘אלand to Yishmael שמעשְׁמַעְתִּיךָ֒I have heard you הִנֵּ֣הbehold ברךבֵּרַ֣כְתִּיI have blessed אֹת֗וֹhim פרהוְהִפְרֵיתִ֥יand I will make fruitful אֹת֛וֹhim רבהוְהִרְבֵּיתִ֥יand I will multiply אֹת֖וֹhim בִּמְאֹ֣דin very much מְאֹ֑דvery much שניםשְׁנֵיםtwo-עשרעָשָׂ֤רteen נשיאנְשִׂיאִם֙princes ילדיוֹלִ֔ידhe will beget נתןוּנְתַתִּ֖יוand I will make him גוילְג֥וֹיto a nation גדולגָּדוֹל :great
כא וְאֶתand (direct object)-בריתבְּרִיתִ֖יMy covenant קוםאָקִ֣יםI will establish אֶתwith- יִצְחָ֑קYitzchok אֲשֶׁר֩that ילדתֵּלֵ֨דshe will bear לְךָ֤to you שָׂרָה֙Sarah מועדלַמּוֹעֵ֣דto the appointed time הַזֶּ֔הthe this שנהבַּשָּׁנָ֖הin the year אחרהָאַחֶרֶת :the other
כב כלהוַיְכַ֖לand He finished דברלְדַבֵּ֣רto speak אִתּ֑וֹwith him עלהוַיַּ֣עַלand He went up אלהיםאֱלֹהִ֔יםHashem מֵעַ֖לfrom on אַבְרָהָם :Avraham
כג לקחוַיִּקַּ֨חand he took אַבְרָהָ֜םAvraham אֶת(direct object)- יִשְׁמָעֵ֣אלYishmael בןבְּנ֗וֹhis son וְאֵ֨תand (direct object) כלכָּלall of-ילידיְלִידֵ֤יborn of ביתבֵיתוֹ֙his house וְאֵת֙and (direct object) כלכָּלall of-מקנהמִקְנַ֣תbought of כסףכַּסְפּ֔וֹhis money כלכָּלevery-זכרזָכָ֕רmale אישבְּאַנְשֵׁ֖יin men of ביתבֵּ֣יתhouse of אַבְרָהָ֑םAvraham מולוַיָּ֜מָלand he circumcised אֶת(direct object)-בשרבְּשַׂ֣רflesh of ערלהעָרְלָתָ֗םtheir foreskin עצםבְּעֶ֙צֶם֙in bone of יוםהַיּ֣וֹםthe day הַזֶּ֔הthe this כַּאֲשֶׁ֛רwhen דברדִּבֶּ֥רHe spoke אִתּ֖וֹwith him אלהיםאֱלֹהִים :Hashem
כד וְאַ֨בְרָהָ֔םand Avraham בןבֶּןson of-תשעיםתִּשְׁעִ֥יםninety תשעוָתֵ֖שַׁעand nine שנהשָׁנָ֑הyear מולבְּהִמֹּל֖וֹin his circumcising בשרבְּשַׂ֥רflesh of ערלהעָרְלָתוֹ :his foreskin
כה וְיִשְׁמָעֵ֣אלand Yishmael בןבְּנ֔וֹhis son בןבֶּןson of-שלוששְׁלֹ֥שׁthree עשרעֶשְׂרֵ֖הteen שנהשָׁנָ֑הyear מולבְּהִ֨מֹּל֔וֹin his circumcising אֵ֖ת(direct object) בשרבְּשַׂ֥רflesh of ערלהעָרְלָתוֹ :his foreskin
כו עצםבְּעֶ֙צֶם֙in bone of יוםהַיּ֣וֹםthe day הַזֶּ֔הthe this מולנִמּ֖וֹלwas circumcised אַבְרָהָ֑םAvraham וְיִשְׁמָעֵ֖אלand Yishmael בןבְּנוֹ :his son
כז כלוְכָלand all of-אישאַנְשֵׁ֤יmen of ביתבֵיתוֹ֙his house ילידיְלִ֣ידborn of ביתבָּ֔יִתhouse מקנהוּמִקְנַתand bought of-כסףכֶּ֖סֶףmoney מֵאֵ֣תfrom with בןבֶּןson of-נכרנֵכָ֑רstranger מולנִמֹּ֖לוּwere circumcised אִתּוֹ :with him
